Aroma is smoked malts, fruit and a small vinous hint. The flavor is smoked malts, fruits, a hint of dark fruit/vinous and a warming finish. Was not disappointed with this, great barley wine. Billicus (291) - @RED BHUT JOIKIAS!, Paulsboro, New Jersey, USA - MAR 25, 2013
22ozer last bottle on shelf

Perfect nose, balanced smoke and vanilla, with a little Carmel and some heat. Amazingly scotch-like on the nose. Rich and smooth with plenty of mellow smoke lingering long afterwards. Sweet throughout but not cloyingly so. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Growler fill at Whole Foods in Chandler (bottles hadn’t hit town yet) pours with a clear copper-amber body that supports an impressive looking nearly creamy tan head of foam. The aroma is sweet and prune-y with smooth malt sweetened smoke that has a pleasing mild bacon component. The taste is smooth and yum and moderately smoky. I get sweet malts and prunes mixing with honey covered ripe cherries to midway. As the bacon-y smoke surfaces amid a modest bitter pine hoppiness the sweeter notes fade away. The smoky bacon persists into the finish as the pine hops grow and then linger into the after taste. This is a terrific sipper. craftbeersweden (675) - SWEDEN - AUG 5, 2013

In a beatiful 650 ml bottle from Systembolaget in Sweden. ABV: 11.4%
A clear, dark amber color Barley Wine with a 3 finger high, beige, head that leave a lot of lacing on the glass.
Nose: Syrup, smoked malt, oak, caramel, vanilla, honey an dark fruit. Ohhh I LOVE that nose!
Taste: Hops, wood, brown sugar, smoked ham, grapefruit, toffee, orange peel and a beatiful long lasting bitterness that even increases over time.
A full body with a medium carbonation. A very well hidden alcohol taste.
I just love this wonderful barley wine from Stone. Go get it and put a few bottles away a year or two. I think it will be even better after a while :)

Perfect amount of smoke at this point, this beer is aging really well. The heat and vanilla notes last throughout. Deep cherry notes come through with some nice bitter hops in the finish. Strong yet well balanced. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Bomber at Jerry’s. Dark, clear red-amber with big, flotsam, off-white head, and good legs / Sweet nose of spun sugar and smoke / Full body, sweet and syrupy, chewy, creamy, excellent balance and hop bite, and bitter, but hot, finish / Winey flavors of spun sugar, orange peel, smoke, salami, grapefruit, almond, and oak / Stone (again) uses smoke adeptly. kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Burnt copper color. Superior carbonation. Willowy foam head lasts indefinitely. Aroma is light.smoke and woodiness. Taste is oak, smoke and caramel. Finish is deliciously stark bitter. phikus01 (112) - New York, USA - MAR 16, 2013
This was a very nice distinguished barley wine. Soft perfume and smoke aroma. Caramel toffee hopped smoke all come together like fine perfume even in flavor. So balanced and so unique. Delicious. poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - APR 13, 2013
Bomber. 2013 Odd Year Release. Pours a pretty hazy amber with a medium beige head with decent retention; leaves some cobwebby lace. Aroma is smoky (fairly mild compared to say, a Aecht Schlenkerla rauchbier), mild dark fruits, tobacco/leather, wood. Taste starts out lightly sweet and savory before quickly turning bitter and remaining that way through the long licorice-tinged finish. Body is very full, mouthfeel creamy, carbonation average for style. Really good, but maybe not as good as I was hoping. I think it will be better in a year, and luckily I have an extra bottle to see what happens.
