[email protected] in a hole. Keg came in today. Thin, offwhite head; no lace; clear, dark golden honey body. Medium body, light foamy carbonation, lightly dry. Aroma of pale malts, loads of honey, musk, touch of citrus. Flavor is musky, honey, pine, touch or grapefruit pulp, grains; finish is musky. Note reads "Malty little sucker." Reminds me of Sierra N PA with less bite and more malts, lots more malts. Not real sweet, but real malty--if that makes sense.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2006 Pale Ales do not get much better then this. Pours a beautiful dark amber color with a creamy head with exceptional lacing for a Pale Ale. The aroma begins weak but gets stronger with a nice maltiness to it along with citrus, caramel, honey and orange. The taste has a great amount of hops which result in a great mouthfeel. I love the biterness in this Pale Ale it makes it better versus being overdone like some beers. The aftertaste is so long lasting for a Pale Ale and feels great on the tongue. I would have to say this is the best Pale Ale I’ve had to date.

Best pale ale I’ve had. Great rich amber color, with a thick rocky head. A sweet malty taste with hints of honey or caramel. Strong hop finish that lingers. Great compliment to a fish taco. Will drink again.

Ah, Stone Pale Ale. Pours with a deep amber color and a large rocky white head. Smells of orange marmalade, lemon zest, molasses and resin. Flavors of blood orange and other citrus fruits, with a good earthy bottom note of carmaelized brown sugar. Finishes with a slight sour tinge, something that seems pretty common in American Pale.

Great big pale malt nose and body. Good caramel and soft toast. Great mouthfeel with a clean and mild hop finish. Great session Pale very easy drinking.

Poured a amber red color with a medium sized head. Nice citrus and pine hop aroma with a touch of malt. Flavor follows suit with a nice hoppy flavor and just enough sweetness to balance it out. This is a great session Pale Ale. Thanks DarkElf

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2008 Good standard offering from Stone. Great when you want a break from the bracing bitterness of their specialty ales but don’t want to give up the hops character you love. Really excellent.

A beautiful "Red" color with a big creamy tan head. Crystal malts and mild floral hopping. A mild hoppy front with a sugary middle a bitter finish and a lingering aftertaste. Well balanced and a good session beer but not on par with Stone’s other offerings.

Gold body, thinnish champagne head. Buttery malt nose. Reminds me of a homebrew I made (NT IPA) Sweet medium roasted malt. No killer hops here just a well balanced beer from Stone! Please start sending this out East. (Buffalo in particlar!)
