probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 16, 2010
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle from Party Source (Syracuse), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear, bright amber with a decent orangey foam. Aroma: Starts off malty – slightly earthy, caramel, a little fruity, soapy; kinda woody and a little rum-like, some very light spiciness, sweet, tighter than expected. Palate: Medium body and very sparse carbonation – nearly flat, in fact. Flav.: Light caramel and toffee with earthy, woodsy notes – seems British, a bit soapy and piney; dry with a limited bitterness.

Not as American or as bitter as expected. Drinkable, but a touch disappointing.

Poured from the tap at Murphys bar (R.I.P.) in Cortland, NY. A complex ale with carmel notes, a little breadiness and some hops toward the end.

Cloudy amber with an orange hue, soapy head. Aromas of grain, caramel, light hops. Flavors of bitter citrus hops, caramel, light grain. Bitter, crisp, dry finish. Good rounded pale just didn’t suet my senses.

JaBier (8178) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 3, 2010
On tap at Winking Lizard Crosswoods. Clear red/copper pour with a medium beige head. English malt nose with earthy hops. Bitter earthy hop flavor with an English malt backbone. Not bad for an English pale.

Wiseblood (701) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 2, 2010
Amber with a good fluffy head and prickly carbonation. Aroma is citrus and some floral hops, not strong but decent. Caramel malty flavor, a little bit woody, floral with a citrus hop bite. Very well balanced.

mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 17, 2010
12 oz. bottle, pours brownish amber with a tiny head. Aroma of balanced caramel malt and hops. Flavour is a nice balance of the same, with a more pronounced hop flavour and citrus. Pretty standard but nice.

Bottle. Pours clear amber, medium off-white head, not terribly persistent, spotty lacing. Nose is caramel/burnt sugar, light grapefruit hops, some slight pine. Flavours are much richer than the nose would suggest; big caramel and grapefruit, some spicy spruce notes, unfortunately, also quite metallic. Not the equal of either their Amber or their IPA. Probably the worst Stone beer I’ve had to date.

tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - DEC 8, 2010
Pours amber with a big off-white head. Flavor is old pine hops, biscuit, grass, some citrus. I might be biased because this is a starter beer, or this was an old bottle, but this doesn’t live up to some other Stone beers I’ve had.
