Visited san diego great brew scene. This poured amber color despite pale name. Great hop nose great hop flavor this is an excellent excellent brew through and through. Perfect finish. awautlet (45) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 27, 2008
Clean, crisp and refreshing with significantly less hop than the IPA. I would say this was even a bit malty for a pale ale but it was also very enjoyable. Notes of caramel malt with a nice balancing citrusy hop. beer4mencc1701 (20) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUN 17, 2009
On tap at Flying Saucer, Addison. Dark, shiny amber, sweet toasty bread herbal aroma with a roasted rich perfectly hopped and nicely balanced resiny-clean taste. Lively, exciting mouthfeel, would order again-highly sessionable. SanfordBrewer (1574) - Sanford, Florida, USA - DEC 24, 2009

comes across as heftier than it really is, almost like a cross between APA and IPA.
makes for a nice session beer.

Great Pale Ale. Perfect balance between hops and malt. Stone has yet to disappoint me. It’s even nicer when you happen upon one of these that you don’t have to pay for (Huge thanks to Jason w/ Stone!) Rskillz (4) - , Georgia, USA - SEP 29, 2008 does not count
Probably the best pale ale I’ve ever drank. Beautiful tan yet clear coloring with a milky white head. Drinks incredible smooth with just the right amount of bite. Currently my favorite. itfitz (10) - California, USA - JUN 7, 2010
Stone’s classic, time-tested Pale Ale is as much a treat as it can be an everyday session beer. Well-chilled, its sparkly carbonation combines with the toasty malt body -- and is the case with most of Stone’s products, adds a nice boost of hoppiness to make a smooth drinkable pale ale. Excellent pale ale. This beer should be the standard for pale ales. I only wish this beer was more accessible.
