4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ap - Slightly hazy, very deep reddish amber/copper in color with a creamy bone-white head that holds well and leaves some nice lace.
Ar - The aroma is limited but offers some light fruit (berries & citrus) and a mild caramel and biscuit notes as well.
P - The body is medium with a very fine and gentle carbonation that leaves it surprisingly creamy in the mouth.
The flavor starts lightly sweet and fruity, reveals some biscuity caramel malt and bright floral hops as it warms in the mouth, and finishes dry with a lingering sweet & fruity citrus maltiness. True to its Stone heritage, the bitterness lingers well after the malts have gone away. Well balanced. The bitterness is appropriate for the style (Stone claims this beer is in the English pale ale style) but not-overdone and the maltiness & tight carbonation are exquisite.
This is a very nice beer and part of a long line of quality beers I had had from Stone. Right up there with Dale’s pale ale as the best American pale ale I have had.
Bottle. Deep amber in colour. Hoppy; piney and grassy hops. Fruity; grapefruit citrus. Malty; sweet toasty malts, caramel. Nice hop/fruit/malt balance. Refreshing. Very drinkable. (2010-10)

Sample at DØE 2016. Hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, malt, caramel, citrus and bitterness. mice (967) - FINLAND - AUG 9, 2016
Pours a murky amber with a thin white head which is gone quickly........aroma is slight earth, sweet malts......taste is medium mouthfeel, earth, bitterness tailing off into a slight metallic finish. BeerRenter76 (1015) - Texas, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Originally rated on 9/16/08. Another good offering from the Stone brewing co. Thier pale ale pours a deep burnt copper colored body, the head is a little on the thin side though. Aroma of sweet malts and floral hops. Flavor gravitates towards earthy malts and the hops compliment nicely. Overall a pretty fine pale ale.

In short: buttery viscous pale ale.
Pours little hazy deep gold-orange, with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Buttery, bready, ripe fruit nose. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is some sweet, fruity, peachy, still malty, biscuits, buttery. Enjoyable.
