Sample @ Charleston Brewvival, 2015. Light amber pour with a white head. Fruity esters – baked apple and melon with light tropical fruits. Fairly oaky funk. Fat, malty base with a dry, somewhat tart tannic grape character. Hints of vanilla and sweet caramelized pear. Lots going on here, but it sort of works. Cool, yeast-driven effort. October 5th, 2014 - Writing these reviews now in 2016, I can look back a couple years ago and see those happy, halcyon days when I practically had Stone South Park’s location to myself. They served a parade of interesting beers there, such as the Passion Project, an auburn beer, bald without much of a head. But the aroma was as distinguished as a full crop of hair, with heavy oak notes on the nose, and the tang and sourness of mango and passion fruit, sewn together with a touch of vanilla. The flavor is equally immersive and impressive, ragged and raw around the edges, but with a delicious core of passion fruit and papaya, balancing sweet and sour and a sharp alcohol taste. On draft at Stone Liberty Station, San Diego. Clear, almost orange color. Brandy nose with citrusy touch. Passion fruit notes come on in waves with quirky funky notes. A dry finish that recalls red wine. Mild tartness but the overall character is passion fruit. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 7, 2015

Pour on tap at FOBAB 2014, hazy golden-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of funk, oak, earth, some odd grainy and yeasty notes into a bit of fruit, slight tropical fruit. Taste was a lot of passion fruit up front into some weird oak, earth, funky notes with a slight yeast, slight grass, finishing tart. John25 (1291) - Middletown, New Jersey, USA - MAR 15, 2015
Draft sample at Hunahpu day 2015. Big malts with juicy passion fruit throughout and red wine dryness. Very complex and unique. Excellent.

An amazing subtle sweet and slightly bitter sour with complex flavors and aromas. I am amazed. Usually stone beers are bitter beer face ipa’s that literally grab your saliva glands and wring the spit out of you. Drake (14358) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 11, 2015
Brewvival 2015 Trip #102. Keg at Brewvival. Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of stone fruit, bread, passionfruit, mild smoke. The taste is dry citrus, stone fruit, bready malt, passionfruit. Medium bodied, syrupy feel.
