Stone Ruination IPA was the first full-time brewed and bottled West Coast double IPA on the planet. As craft beer has evolved over the years, so too have techniques for maximizing hop flavors and aromas. For the second incarnation of our groundbreaking India pale ale, we employed dry hopping and hop bursting to squeeze every last drop of piney, citrusy, tropical essence from the hops that give this beer its incredible character. We’ve also updated the name to reflect the imperial-level intensity that’s evident in every sip. Join us in cheering this, the second stanza in our “Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop.”

Puszka z Berlina. Kiedyś mi bardziej smakowało. Goryczka, jakoś ten alkohol wychodzi na języku. Jak u polskich piłkarzy po sezonie: brakuje świeżości.

Can at home. Clear amber with a white head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel), heavy hoppy (spice, grape, citrus, pine). Flavor medium sweet, heavy bitter, light spicy, long lasting bitterness. Medium+ body, medium carbonated.

Büchse: Golden, hazy, lacy creamy white head; quite solid lemony-piney nose, some bready malt detectable; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, a bit fizzy, drier and surely lingering piney finish, balanced by the usual american malty sweetness. Surely good, but surely as well not my cup of tea...

Can 33 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze and a dense, white head. Very discreet aroma, some hops but no real aromatics. Rich, malty body, loads of bittering hops, but no crisp or juicy freshness. Just raw power. Overwhelmingly unimpressive. 190617

Amber. Strong hoppy aroma and flavour with spice, grape and citrus, and a full, sweetish taste with a highly bitter hoppy finish. Medium body, and smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a great DIPA. Huge hop profile with the sweetness to balance it. Quite drinkable.

Bottle: Lightly hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is usual suspect DIPA with grapefruit, orange peel, pine, some soapiness. Taste is abrasively bitter but I don’t recall feeling the alcohol much. Medium+ body, medium to soft carbonation with a long bitter finish. Overall: 100 IBU beers are usually tough to convince me on and this one was no different, the bitterness just felt overwhelming this time.

Fresh fruity aroma. Sweet honey and alcohol first impression. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Feels like an hybrid between Belgian strong ale and double IPA. Overall enjoyable.

Big foam. Hazy dark yellow pretty floral. Hoppy taste. One of the better ipa’s I’ve tasted, though nothing special to really set it apart

0.33l can from rewe in charlottenburg, brewed in berlin. pours a hazy golden with a frothy white head. aroma of tropical fruity hops, melon, bread. flavour of tropical fruits, apricots, oranges, spruce. alcohol is well hidden. juicy, malty, not extremely bitter finish. relatively easy drinking for an iipa.

Virkelig en god og spændende double IPA: Fian smag af humle og dejlig frisk. Købt i Fakta
