yes yes yes. softer bitterness than regular ruination, but possibly even brighter and more vibrant hops. Sweeter and juicier too, for better or worse, I’m a fan!

On tap at City Beer Store. The beer is a light amber golden color. It’s clouded over, just barely so though. Medium, off white head. Fine bubbles, some lacing. The aroma is full of hop flavor. It’s bursting with grapefruit, tangerine, floral flavors, big tropical fruitiness and just a touch of malt sweetness. Big mango, guava, grapes, pineapple. My only criticism is that there’s so much going on that it gets a bit muddled. Grapefruit is probably the strongest single flavor but it doesn’t seem like an old school grapefruit and pine big c hop IPA. Taste has firm bitterness and is fairly dry. It’s a bit blander than the aroma, some hop delicacy is lost, but it’s still a tasty burst of hop flavor. Fairly soft feel. Lowish carbonation. Still quite light for the abv. Great work from Stone.

Orange peel nose, not strong. Slightly hazy amber, thin head. Orange and grapefruit, lemon grass. Medium body, easy carbonation. Well balanced, not blisteringly hoppy as I expected.

Keg, The Publick House, Boston, a pint. Well blow me. This is the hoppiest craziest beer I’ve had since Mikkeller’s 3000 IBUs. Absolutely incredibly hopped. Also much easier to drink than Mikkeller’s equivalent. Mitch you’re a total legend. I have no idea how you pulled this off. So utterly insane. Lots of tropical fruits. Dank. Citra and Centennial overload. Centennial again proving why it is the best hop, period.

Draught @ O’Briens, San Diego, CA

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of resinous malts, caramel, toffee, grassy hops and citrus. Taste is sweet, caramely and resinous with some toffee, grass, pine and citrus. Finish is sweet, caramely malty and hoppy with loads of pine, resin and grass. Doesn’t feel super fresh.
