So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bottle. Golden brown with a big off-white head. Aromas are fairly light malts with earthy dry pine and petrol fume-like alcohol vapours. Flavours are fruity with caramel. Very prickly hops, dry, bitter and mouth numbing in its alcohol. Too strong to drink too many for sure. Almost overbearing.

Bottle. Golden beer with a lightly hopped and malty aroma and a dry long lasting vinous flavour. Overall a reasonable beer.

An extremely bitter beer, yet the bitterness does not in any way detract from the taste. Nice hop taste and a not over-powering alcohol percentage.

This beer kicks me in the ass. Extremely hoppy and bitter. I understand the selling point of this beer is its bitterness, but I can do no more than sip it slowly. It feels like it dries out my mouth when I drink it.

Bottle, shared with richlikebeer, thanks homie. Aroma was nice piney hop with a little banana in there. Pour was nice copper. Flavor was good a nice bitterness in its hops, a hint of sweet malts and some more fruit. Palate for me was right on nice body and finish. Overall another solid Stone.

tons of hops, in both the aroma and the flavor, but i think this needs a little more malt balance to put it into the upper echelon of IIPAs. lots of pine, some citrus, and a little bit of grass, but not enough backbone to counter all of the hops. the bitterness is a bit too much, and the overall character of this is coser to a regular IPA than an imperial. as part 5 of IIPA Sunday, this was a little dissapointing.

A nice example of an imperial IPA. Leans more to the bitterness side, without much sweet. Head was very thick and foamy, leaving a resinous aroma. Full bodied, it starts with the flavor of chewing on a pine needle and rounds out with some grapefruit and ends with a bitter hop kick.
