Please note that the Ruination produced in Europe is the Ruination Double IPA 2.0
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Overwhelming and not to be taken lightly? I found this to be a wonderful Imperial IPA but somehow it didn’t live up to my expectations. Fantastic aroma but the hop flavor seems a little low due to some malt overload. It’s bitter but the hop complexity seems one dimensional. Still enjoyable and will try it again.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2007 rerate. nice that this is in a 12oz bottle. The aroma from this bitch is Two Hearted Ale on steroids. Flavor, again, is super centennial hops and rich malt smoothness. I think might be the freshest i’ve ever had this despite the bottle saying best 8/9/07 which was last week. this definitely awesome. A strong citrucy hop aroma but not as strong as the normal IPA. Pours copper color with little head. Taste is syrupy and a little too much alcohol shines through. I think the regular IPA is better with nearly the same abv.

Stone IPA is one of my favorites. This is the extreme hoppy version of their beer. However, it’s not overpowering but very drinkable.

this was great - nice strong - super strong hop flavor. Packed a punch that’s for sure. I wish i could get stone beers on the east coast

Smells, pours, laces, great. Tastes a bit sour. Super bitter, delicious, typical citrus-y notes.

Bottle (650ml). Poured clear copper-orange with a large foamy off-white head. Yes, it’s a Stone - strong fresh hops medley, resiny citrusy malt - very appealing. God, this tastes good! - fresh malt, extremely oak-pine resiny, enough malt roastiness to identify. Finishes quite bitter, but this is an exquisite brew - what’s with these west coast IPAs? Can anyone else make one? I want MORE.

Rating number 100! This is pretty much a hop monster. Strong hoppy flavor in the nose, and even more in the taste. Amazing balance. It finishes with a sweet almost fruity flavor. An excellent beer! Go Stone!

I dont really like IPAs especially, this one is pretty dank. Hoppy like a cute little bunny. But its mean like a big wolfy wolf. Meaning that it gets you crunk. The appearance is ok, nothing special I guess. Flavor is exquisite, and it keeps getting better with every sip. Most definitely a Stone brew.

Bottle @ GBBF, 2005. Tastes like a reasonably strong and hoppy ale. Quite peppery. It’s a decent enough beer - but somehow a little quiet considering the tension between the hops and the malt. Difficult not to be disappointed.

Bottled. Copper colour, white small head. Hoppy aroma. Very hoppy flavour with hints of flowers and weak fruitish hints. Very dry finish and long hoppy aftertaste.
