So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Robe ambre et limpide. Jolie mousse qui tient bien. Armes de fruits exotiques et biscuit. Got biscuit, caramel, fruits confits, fruits exotiques. Les fruits exotiques restent en bouche. Longue en bouche. Une trs bonne IPA.

Bottle. Pours a pale gold with a slight haze. Aroma. Bitter pine with tropical and citrus aromas. Taste. Immediately i pick up sweet mandarin, followed by tropical fruits and a very strong piney bitterness that lingers throughout and in the aftertaste.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic, Sint-Gillis. Hazy amber colour, creamy white foam. Incredible fruity nose: pine, honey, passion fruit, pineapple. Sweet but also bitter hoppy finish. Very well balanced .Great!

Pours clear gold. Greatly reduced head. However it doesnt stop the aroma. BIG AROMA!! Fresh hops, abrasive citrus, acidic, dank, weed, flowers and big pine. Taste is the same with caramel and slightly roasty malts. BIG FLAVOR! This is a beast.

Rating #1294 - 21.10.2014. Stone launch @craftbeeryeg Pours a darker amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is citrusy, grapefruit hops predominant. Taste is extremely hoppy, lots of cool citrus notes - mild tropical, mild pine, mild orange zest. Extraordinarily balanced - the sweet, cookie dough malt met with doses of bitterness, and they all linger into the finish. Beautiful.

Wonderful aroma mix of pine, resin and tropic fruits based on a subtle malt body. The licory bodu makes you think of an barley wine topped by a mighty hop kick. Finally this beer stays surprisingly drinkable but is mostly overrated in my eyes.

Poured from a bottle. I could smell it an arms length away as it was being served. Very fresh citrus notes. Caramel with light brown color, breaking amber and golden on the edges of the glass. This taste incredible of danky grapefruit with nice citrus flavors. Love it when we get fresh Stone in Iowa, so good. Last time I had this beer was on tap was at Big Grove on a Skype with Mitch Steele. Pretty cool.

Classic IIPA. Bold hop flavours of citrus and ripe mango. Some find it bitter but for me the bitterness is good.

A classic, though a bit dated and I see why they replaced it. Very bitter and lean with not the same kind of aroma you get from current DIPAs.
