So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bottle from Kroger. Bright hop nose with a hint of grapefruit. Great color pour and perfect medium ipa head. Full citrus grapefruit up front with bunches of hop burst behind. Similar in feel to hopslam if you could subtract the honey. A great 2x ipa. ---Rated via my mouth

From Jun 2006 poured from 22oz bottle a medium gold with a large head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving a solid layer with good lacing. The smell is a citrusy hop..a mix of lemon and grapefruit. The taste has a huge hop flavour initially that is quite bitter but as I swish the brew in my mouth, there *is* a definite malt presence there that softens the hop attack a bit but yeah, make no mistake aboot it...this brew is a hop bomb first and foremost and that's a good thing. ;^) That's why I keep picking up this beer when I make my(in) frequent jaunts to Colorado. Bottom line: A great DIPA that, imho, deserves the reputation that it has acquired. I Highly Recommend it!

Aromas of fruit - pineapple more specifically. Pours a hazy straw with a loose head. Taste of grapefruit. Really drinkable.

Bold aroma. Light in color for a double IPA. Very smooth flavor not overpowering. Awesome beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

If this were the first beer, no others would need to be made. It always reminds me of when I first tasted the nectar of gods, sneaking a sip as a yout. I’ve stopped drinking anything else, crept on a golf outing when we shotgun Jacobs best.

Can from Stone Berlin at 8.5. Very hoppy tropical aroma. Medium body. Tons of hoppy bitterness on tongue with additional nuts. Heavy astringent bitterness. Still drinkable. Good.

Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAR 5, 2017
Classic DIPA from can served in a Chouffe glass: Creamy sticky airy white head. Hazy yellow body. Nose of sticky hops and it fruits. Quite cliché but oh so nice. Flavour starts sticky hoppy with hoppy fruit tones, sticky yellow fruit, little floral and light malty. Into the afgertaste the bitterness grows very well and becomes a strong bitter pattern with some grassy/herbal tints. Low carbo, creamy oily silky mouthfeel, between medium and fuller bodied but closer to medium... very nice stuff!

Keg Half Pint at White Horse American Beer Festival 2009, Parsons Green, London in July 2009 - Also Bottle - Pale Amber in colour. Mega-Hoppy; piney oily resinous spicy hops. Very Fruity; very citrus-grapefruit and lemon. Malty; solid malt base, caramel. Very bitter citrus fruity and hoppy. Bottle was less extreme than the keg version tasted at The White Horse 2009. Better balanced; malts more noticeable; hops less aggressive. Nice 2IPA! (2009-07)

Lowenbrau (4686) - Asturias, SPAIN - DEC 9, 2016
Keg @BierCab, Barcelona. 05-10-215.
In short: nice robust IPA.
Pours deep gold with frothy off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Tropical fruit, caramel nose. Medium body, average carbonation, little crispy texture. Taste follows the nose. Solid brew.

SebBrews (197) - Bucharest, ROMANIA - NOV 25, 2016
Pours a clear-ish amber color with a foamy, persistent head. Aroma: tropical fruits, mango, pine. Taste is a bittersweet juice bomb - mango, pineapple, papaya, honey. Heavy body, thick texture, medium carbonation, long bitter finish. Great.
