Bottle. Golden and medium head. Strong hops and malt aroma. Massive resin and bitter in the mouth and subtle aroma of hops. The heavy bitterness covers and mess up all the rest. squigs46 (55) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - APR 21, 2011
good beer...flying saucer had their stone kick off party celebrating its arrival in missouri and i tried a few beers brewed by stone. rjwhite41 (55) - osceola, Iowa, USA - DEC 18, 2012
12 oz bottle poured into an English Pub pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy orange yellow with a thick fluffy white head. Smells of grapefruit, melon, floral, and sweetish malt. Tastes of grapefruit, citrus, light crystal malts and bread. Medium body with a tongue coating sweetness in the middle and a bitter beginning and end that lingers for ages and ends with a medium dryness. Very nice beer (at least for hop heads). robbeebobby (55) - newark, Arkansas, USA - NOV 27, 2013
Pours golden with a small slightly off white head. Aroma of citrus and hops. The taste is citrusy with some pine. The bitterness is just right and not over bearing. The carbonation is just right and it goes down smooth. tmm313 (55) - Georgia, USA - MAY 10, 2014
The Stone people have it figured out. IN YOUR FACE hops with flavors moving around and mixing the way they’re supposed to. Its one of those you’re always sad to take the last drink of.

This beer does not live up to it’s own hype. It’s good, but not *that* good. Totally lacking in real character aside from a whole bunch of cascade hops. Whoop de doo - like there aren’t 500 other IPAs out there with a ton of cascades in them. Dogfishhead has 3 or 4 beers that hop that pants off of this dull-edged ale. And somehow, this beer just wasn’t bitter enough. I’ve heard that the human tongue can only taste up to 70 or so IBUs and this beer is allegedly over 100. But still it is just not quite hoppy enough. It also lacks the powerful yet refined malt presence of beers like Speakeasy’s amber or Rogue’s Dead Guy Ale. Willin8 (55) - Massapequa, New York, USA - MAR 18, 2007
Amber pour. Medium quickly dissipating head. Fresh hops aroma which has mild notes of grapefruit. Fresh hop grapefruit flavor. Bitter crisp finish with slight alcohol burn in the back of the throat and more evidence of grass. BlackMail (55) - Evergreen, Colorado, USA - JUL 12, 2008
Poured amber with a short lived head. The aroma is hoppy. The flavor is sweet with a hoppy piny crisp taste that is bitter. Their regular IPA is just as good and cheaper. specksnreds (55) - USA - SEP 14, 2008
Love the amber/gold color. Strong resin nose. Citrus note for sure on first taste. Mouthfeel is a little watery. I like it, but I think my expectations were too high. Worth another try though. rahmdog (55) - Durham, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 25, 2010
Golden out of the bottle, white head that lingers and leaves it’s mark. Aroma is complex with floral hops, fruity notes, and citrus. The taste is a competition between floral hops, intense bitter, and malty sweetness. Well balanced, in your face type of beer that i love. Stone is on it.
