Very good brew. Hops, hops, hops. The good thing about it though is that the beer is very hoppy, but not so much to the point I don’t want to drink it. Another classic from stone! djc920 (38) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Ruinous is right! This is truly a well-crafted beer... Intense hops all around. The impact on my nose and palate was impressive, yet I was not driven away by the bitter explosion.... I craved more. There is a great balance between the bitterness and the malty sweetness. Simply divine. Waterbury (37) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 17, 2011
Bottle pours orange-gold with a white head. Aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, peach, and pine. Flavor is nice with citrus quickly followed by sticky resinous hops. Overall body is medium, sweet, and finishes with moderate but nice bitterness.

12oz bottle, gift from a friend. Pour is hazy golden with a finger of off-white head that slowly dissipates. Strong pine and malt on the nose. First sip gives piney, resinous flavor, along with some bright citrus and a bit of malty sweetness. Yum. There’s a little bit of sweet fruit-like flavor and woodiness at the finish. Nice substantial mouthfeel. Suprisingly easy to drink for a near 8%er. You could get in trouble with this one. The alcohol is fairly well hidden. There’s definitely a bit of bitter aftertaste, though it’s not overpowering. Great beer! Ahrens (37) - Lund, SWEDEN - JUL 29, 2012
A very hoppy and well-balanced DIPA with medium bitterness. A great bear overall.

Damn, is this beer good or what? Its a hop lovers dream. Take a sniff from your bottle, smells amazing. Malty, hoppy, sour. Stone brewery doesnt skimp on quality here. Take a huge mouth full and just let it settle on the back of your tongue before you swallow. This is what beer is about. Cheers! to another great Stone brewery product. This beer is a punch in the face and a pure invasion of the senses. imanerd (37) - Novi, Michigan, USA - FEB 4, 2007
I was super pumped to try this, and super disappointed when i did. There is no malt profile to back up the hops. Extremely unbalanced. While there was an interesting hop profile, it was incredibly raw. jefe026 (37) - USA - SEP 20, 2007
never...NEVER have i had a beer better than this, i loved the taste, it was very bitter but at the same time it was perfectly ballanced by the malt. i love everything about this beer, except for the price, 3.99 a pint!!! it was still worth every penny fg8080 (37) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 12, 2008
If i could only drink 1 beer for the rest of my life , this is it son. Fav Brewer is stone, fav Brew is this godsent RUINATION beautifull IPA. Forget about a bottle, buy a case. document (36) - USA - FEB 8, 2003
I apparently didn't rate this, when I thought I had. No other IPA begins to approach. This is pure hops with the barest possible minimum of malt "balance." Simply outrageous hops, so much that you need to steel yourself before each sip. Do it, because when you do, each sip is bliss. This is the one, real deal, but only when you can be as pure and uncompromising as the beer itself.
