Please note that the Ruination produced in Europe is the Ruination Double IPA 2.0
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bottle - Pours a clear light amber with a little orange hue, one finger white head medium sized bubbles. Aroma is super hoppy with a little spice and florallly resin. Mouthfeel is creamy smooth which is in good balance with the bitterness of the hops. The bitterness hits you right away and taste like I just took a bite off the hop vine. Malt is sweet from caramel and there is a little alcohol burn. Overall the star of this beer is the hop but there is a nice sweet malt to kind of balance while the higher alcohol warms. Not bad representation of strong ipa.

Taken from old notes. Golden yellow pour with nose of strong citrus. Taste is very bitter with a solid malt backbone and a slightly boozy finish.

Golden yellow, cloudy beer with some white head. Aroma of pines and fruits. Flavour is bitter with pines and grapefruit. Plenty of grapefruit alltogether.

On tap at Alewife. Hazy orange with a small creamy white head and good lacing. Aroma is medium to heavy hoppy with floral hops, citrus and pine. Taste is moderate sweet with slight caramel notes and heavy hop bitterness that last very long. Mouthfeel is dry. Good crisp and refreshing IIPA.

Tasted from tall bottle into a nucleated tulip glass. It poured a clear, amber/copper color with creamy off-white head, long-lasting with nice lace. Nice proteiny head-retention. Multi-layered hops aroma: citrusy (some but not entirely grapefruit), earthy, resiny, with some nice caramel malt and fruity ale esters underneath. Good flavor too. It seems ridiculous to speak of balance when it comes to a 100+ IBU double IPA, but there was a palatable portion of hops in the bitterness, flavor, and aroma stages, without completely overpowering the rich, bready, caramelly malt sweetness. Light-medium body (lighter than expected), medium carbonation, well-rounded and smooth mouthfeel (not as vegetal as I expected), lingering bittersweet aftertaste. A good strong IPA.

Strong aroma has citrus hoppiness. Under this caramel malting. Hazy honey yellow. Short head leaves thin lacing. Taste is strongly aromatic, full feel. Bit sticky sweetness ends in dry finish. Nick ipa has also high bitterness but is to my liking. Recommended.

Pours a hazy light orange, substantial white head with lots of lacing. Pine hops dominate the nose, not much else sneaks through. solid double ipa. Resiny pine dominates taste too. wonderful and hoppy, with a sweet middle. Smooth mouthfeel. Pleasant beer.
