Tasted on 5/11/13 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle purchased at a grocery store in Arizona. Pours clear orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to average, messy lace. The nose is full of hoppiness, ranging from resin, to citrus, to floral, with just a touch of yeast aroma and a bit of bread malt. The flavor is really just dominated by hops and bitterness, with the same touch of bread malt acting as a bit of a balancing agent. The body is medium with a bit of a sticky texture, average carbonation, and a long, ridiculously bitter hoppy finish. Cbuk1013 (247) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JUN 1, 2013
This is a very good beer but it’s definitely over hyped. Like many of Stone’s beers. Staffan47 (909) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - JUN 1, 2013
Naturligtvis lite svårt att få tag på färsk ipa i Sverige men trots att den är trött är den riktigt bra. Snudd på världsklass även om jag börjar tröttna på west coast chinchill (5159) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 15, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2013 On tap the the Most Arrogant Bash (Barleys in Greenville SC). [This is the special Double Dry Hopped (Calypso) version. Lumped together here, they are not the same. I had this at a Stone sponsored event, with the founder and head of Stone Brewing present, and this was on the beer menu as a separate item from Ruination IPA.]
Pour is a somewhat light amber with a very very durable head.
Smells suspiciously hoppy but ..
Heck yeah, this is really hoppy; could ruin ones taste buds for any beer that follow. The bitterness, however, is somewhat controlled by a judicious use of sweet malts. Still, of course, moderately bitter.
O: Stone has managed to take a very hopped beer and increase the hops component without making it harsh or more than slightly challenging. Shanebrews (294) - Virginia, USA - JUN 29, 2013
The hop aroma of this beer can be detected across a room. There is no discernable malt presence, except in the color. Yet I know it must be there, because I have tasted hop tea and it is not this. Somehow it works but I must be in the right mood to drink this. Excellent on a hot day.

Has a little bit of grapefruit flavor, but the beer is all bitterness. Like the bottle proclaims, the bitter flavor dominates your mouth a while after you drink it. I admire the beer, but I also have to admit it’s a bit much for me. Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear orange/ bronze with a white head. Smells nutty, oranges. A nicely balanced IPA, not overly hoppy, not too malty, great bitter finish. Very piney, clean and crisp. A really enjoyable beer. Niall73 (2434) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 8, 2013
On tap at Westow House. A welcome surprise to find this on tap. Pours a hazy gold colour with a white head. Light trop fruit aroma with some lemon. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Tangerine, funky fruit, big grapefruit bitterness. Yep, tasty.

A bit too bitter for me, at least when there’s no balance. Still good but preferred the Avery IPA. From back log 3 weeks ago.
