Bottle from G&M brought from SD. Almost clear straw yellow pour. Aroma is intensely west coast hoppiness, a bit grassy and resiny. Taste follows - very bitter hops, resin, pine, crisp, mineral (?). Crisp boozy finish. Very west coast, San Diego-style IPA with super crisp resiny hops. Good but not great. CacheManyHose (724) - HONG KONG - NOV 22, 2014
From San Diego. Straw-gold, sudsy white head with huge chunky bubbles. Smells of heavy resinous bitter crisp grassy hop, leafy, hint of spicy malt. Gets maltier as it warms up. Tastes very bitter, metallic/mineral. Body is very bitter, stony, mineral finish. A very West Coast IPA. vadie (1256) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 29, 2014
Poured from a bottle. Not bad but overrated. Cloudy orange, little head, slight lacing. The aroma was the best part: maybe candied apricots. More bitterness on the swallow. LeRoytheAlien (55) - Kennesaw, Georgia, USA - JAN 26, 2015
Golden pour with a white head. Unsurprisingly packed with resin, pine, citrus, nedium malt body and punishing bitterness. A very good brew, but, in my opinion, could use a little more sweetness from the malt.

Golden with a thin, soapy head. Bitter as hell. Not much on the nose, to be honest, but still quite good. Towey1989 (2820) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2015
Keg at Brewdog Liverpool. A slightly hazy amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, resin with spicy and pungent orange, lemon and grapefruit. Taste is bitter and hop dominated with flavours of grapefruit, pine, alcohol and spiciness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a waxy texture. A long, dry bitter finish. A solid IPA but too bitter to be really enjoyable, which is a shame. coachd (836) - Missouri, USA - APR 25, 2015
I know I have tried this before, just never got around to rating it. Aroma is a combo of pine and grapefruit hops with only a hint of malt sweetness to balance it out. I think stone wanted this one unbalanced. Not a particularly attractive beer. Murky light orange color with a huge white head of foam that leaves a mess on the glass as it recedes. Taste is hoppy, but not crazy bitter like you would expect. Grapefruit hops and honey sweetness that linger all the way to the aftertaste which is also hoppy, but still not bitter. The flavor stays with you even when you put the beer down for a while. I like that in an IPA. Palate is substantial and holds up to a beer this size. Not watery at all. Overall very enjoyable. Don't let the name scare you off. You can handle this one.

I was pretty surprised when I realized I haven’t rated this until now since I have had this beer so many times. Pours a kind or orangish goldish color. To be honest, it looks a little strange coming out of the bottle, but it looks good once it settles in the glass. Head is thick and dense. Aroma is straight up hops. Like that aroma, the flavor is pretty hoppy, but there is some wood and grass in there too. To be honest, I may prefer the straight up Stone IPA, but this does give you some flavor that you don’t get with the standard Stone IPA. Like so many stone beers, this beer has a lot of flavor but it doesn’t overpower you. Supertrev (102) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2015
Pours clear with thin white head. Nice hop and malt aroma. Woody aroma. Bitter but not too unbalanced for my tastes. Fairly extreme aftertaste on my palate.
