So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

On tap at the brewery. Crisp, light mouthfeel. Floral aroma, sweet grapefruit. Fairly straightforward, but awesome none the less.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2017 4/5 review written as a comment in my 1001 Beers book. Unfortunately there are no tasting notes, so I must endeavour to try this again. Tried when this was a guest beer at BrewDog Cardiff, many moons ago.

Had this in cold climate and I think that added to the taste. Little bitter but enjoyed it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a really potent IPA with full blow on the aroma. It smells of hops and especially citrus fruits. From the start, the taste is full of hops with full pressure on citrus, pine needles and grape. It is a hop bomb that explodes in the mouth, but releases all American hops featuring grape, pine needles, apricots, yellow plums and pineapple. You really need to be quick to get all the taste, and I've probably only tracked a few. It's not an IPA for beginners, IBU is over 100, so if you do not like hops so stay away! Over the years, I have begun to find positivity in, especially American IPAs, so this aggressive, hoppyy IPA actually falls in good with me. The aftertaste is so dry that you almost feel like a glass of water in between. I'm sure the hoppy flavoiur first leaves my mouth for several days. But I think it's a fantastic tasteful IPA.

Blik gedeeld door Benzai en gedronken met Tomhendriksen. Goudgeel, licht troebel bier. Aroma is hoppig. Smaak is hoppig en kruidig. Weinig nasmaak.

Blik gedeeld door Benzai, geprobeerd met Inoven. Het is een licht troebel geel bier met een medium witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een hoppige geur. De smaak is scherp hoppig en vol.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2017 Can from BH. Nice, lively white, bubbly head on cloudy orange. Mild, fruity, citrus aroma. A serious double IPA, less fruity in the drinking. Quite a subtle little number.

From Jun 2006 poured from 22oz bottle a medium gold with a large head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving a solid layer with good lacing. The smell is a citrusy hop..a mix of lemon and grapefruit. The taste has a huge hop flavour initially that is quite bitter but as I swish the brew in my mouth, there *is* a definite malt presence there that softens the hop attack a bit but yeah, make no mistake aboot it...this brew is a hop bomb first and foremost and that's a good thing. ;^) That's why I keep picking up this beer when I make my(in) frequent jaunts to Colorado. Bottom line: A great DIPA that, imho, deserves the reputation that it has acquired. I Highly Recommend it!

Aromas of fruit - pineapple more specifically. Pours a hazy straw with a loose head. Taste of grapefruit. Really drinkable.
