In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop, then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

Tap at Redhot, Munich, 6th September 16. Pours dark Amber. Aroma is floral, pine, booze. Taste is very bitter, some sweet marmalade, orange peel, not too heavy for the ABV. Its gonna give you a hit around the head, from behind. Very well executed and enjoyable.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2016 Tap at Bevog Festival as "Stone Ruin Ten 2016". Pours a clear, shiny amber with a small white head. Aroma of juicy tropical fruits (ripe mango, passion fruit, pineapple), grainy sweet malts, caramel, cashew nuts, pine, resin, notes of honey. Taste is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Pleasant and not overpowering. Oily, slick body with medium, lively carbonation and a lingering sweet finish.
Well balanced, complex and very drinkable. Although it has a pretty strong ABV, the alcohol really doesnt show. Already looking for the bottled version.

Location: Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA
Aroma: Very piney, medicinal candy... almost pine sol as it warms
Taste: Taste is rich marmalade, medicinal maltiness, nasal burn and then mellow warming in the chest
Overall: Not my favorite thing from Stone...the aroma here is way too astringent / chemical cleaner. The flavor is thick and marmalade-y...but the chemical notes are surprising. Could work as a VapoRub remedy.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2016 On tap at Erzbierschof. Aroma is all bitter caramel. Flavour has big caramel and biscuit notes, with a little fruitiness (maybe some apple?) before the big bitter finale. Huge flavour.

From a 650ml bottle on 19/8/2016. Pours a clear deep golden with a small to medium head. For something so big, the aroma is pretty subdued, though I am suffering a bit of a cold at the moment. Theres some caramel and light earthy, fruity hops, but its all quite subtle, Take a sip and its an entirely different story. There is a real intensity and length to it that makes itself known immediately. Theres a big malt presence (caramel and biscuit), some pronounced sweet citrus, tropical and stone fruit sweetness, which is bludgeoned by a massive, camphorous, resiny, herbal, tongue coating bitterness which somehow manages to convince you youre drinking something even stronger than 10.8%. This is a very dry, almost mediciinal experience - a chewy, oily sipper, which is not an easy quaffer. Challenging and flavour packed, yet a little difficult to truly fall in love with. Definitely a memorable experience none the less.

Bottle from beer junction. Pretty malty and at less than 50 days it seems as if it it turning to more of a barleywine. Its a great concise IPA. But more malt than hops.
