COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
RUINING PALATES SINCE 2002
In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop, then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

22 oz. bottle from Friar Tucks poured into a pint glass. Aroma is sweet, heavy malt and light honey up front with a mixture of faint pine and grapefruit hops afterward. Pleasant aroma, but I thought it would be stronger. Pours out a beautiful bright golden color. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 on appearance is the huge foamy head which should be smaller for such a strong beer. Leaves some sticky lacing on the side of the glass. Taste is bitter, but in a good way. The malt sweetness stands up to it at first, but gives up quickly and the aftertaste is all hops. I am not finding it to be that much hoppier than Ruination, despite the higher IBUs. Some alcohol burn, which I dont mind at all. If it werent for the alcohol, this beer would be a one dimensional hop bomb. Palate is smooth, not overly carbonated. Definitely a sipper, it will take me a while to finish this bottle. Overall, I liked it but there are other strong Imperial IPAs that I like more. Good, not great. It is reasonably priced; Kudos to Stone because they could have jacked up the price due to its high ABV and being an anniversary release.

650ml bottle. Pours a clear orange colour with a big frothy off-white head. Aroma of resin, pine, fruity, grapefruit, marmalade, malty, caramel, spicy, the taste is exactly all that too. Some sweetness with a lasting bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth. Alcohol has a warming feeling but its actually fairly well hidden when you consider the ABV. What an awesome brew, really nice.

Deep golden color with a moderate, dissipating canvas colored head. Huge aromas of orange citrus. Light pine, caramel, circus peanuts, grapefruit and toffee meander about in the nose as well. Full feel, with a light zip. Sweet pear and toasted malt in the front. Hops completely take over with citrus, pine and resin. A light burn on the tongue, not sure if its from the alcohol or the acidic hops. Finish is citric honey; and linger has pale malts and resin. 6/13

Aroma is piney and intense. Grapefruit, peach sweetness and resin. Taste is a lot of grapefruit and spruce coated in resin. Slight licorice feelings. A fair share of sweetness as well, almost peachy that undermines the bitterness. Hint of alcohol.

Bottle at home, from Kirsty for Christmas. Dark brown with a touch of red. Heavy consistency for the type.

Hazy orange beer, thick white head. Strong blend of grassy hop, caramel, rye and tropical fruit in the aroma. Taste has the same qualities. Tangy-sweet fruit up front, gets a bit sourer as you go along, a sort of rich, caramel-sweet hint to stop it being overly bitter and sour. Lasting hoppiness, sourness at the back of the tongue as well as being a bit airy and floral. Delicious.

Everything glorious about Ruination amped up to 11! A Stone release as dank as ever with bold and juiced citrus charged up with a following fresh cut pine. The heavy hitting hops balanced expertly by a huge malt bill. A true standard setting brew for the IPA style.
