COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In spring 2011, Stone bought the farm, literally, taking over 19 acres of fertile Southern California soil where we now grow pristine fruits, vegetables, herbs and more for our Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens restaurants. A taste of our homespun farm-to-tableism is provided in this farmhouse ale stoked with lemon zest, plus lemon thyme and lavender straight from Stone Farms. This spring-to-summer saison is citric and herbal on the palate with a dry, peppery finish. Thanks to the infusion of fresh West Coast ingredients, this isn’t your everyday saison. It’s our saison—100% Stone. Celebrate the sunny season with an authentic taste of our farm and, with it, our commitment to quality.

Poured from bottle, lakeside, after riding singletrack with friends, paired with brats off the grill. Quite floral and fruity, lemon aroma and body like a wit. Decent brew, but not as awesome as other Stone offerings. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From notes taken in Berlin about a year ago. SD-brewed, not Berlin-brewed, and on draft: Flowery and spicy like chamomile and clove. Too spicy, too soap-shop. Bit of black/white/green pepper. Bitterish and dryish but those -ishes are necessary. I don’t doubt the execution here, but the recipe is not to my taste, and certainly not built for drinkability. If you have to dump in the spice cabinet, at least balance that with bitterness.

355 ml bottle, from a trade with Cunningham. ABV is 6%. Pale golden colour, crystal clear first, hazy when the yeast is poured in the end. Huge white head. Surprisingly moderate aroma of spicy saison yeast and grain, not remarkable. Spicy saison yeast in the flavour too, bitter finish. Again some grainy notes. Far from the best saison I’ve had. .

Keg Third of a Pint at BrewDog, Shepherds Bush, London in Jan 2016 - Clear Orangey Gold in colour. Good creamy off-white head. Excellent lacing. Fruity; orange and lemon citrus. Spicy; peppery. Yeasty. Hoppy; grassy and herbal hops. Syrupy fruity. Sweetish fruity, spicy and yeasty throughout. Easy drinking Saison. (2016-01-20)

Aroma and taste: apples and pears, a little citrus and floral hops, medium hop bitterness, drinkable.

Tasted on 9/25/16 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Tops. Pours hazy deep orange with a massive, rocky white head that slowly recedes to thick, sticky, rocky lace. The nose is mostly honey and light caramel malt with some nice spicy yeast characteristics, herbal tea, and lavender. The flavor is has some of the same honey and light malt sweetness up front, moving to the saison spice, hint of bitter herbal tea, and lavender. The body is medium with lively carbonation, and a long lightly bitter, nicely spicy, honeyed finish.

Bottle (viking amorella). Yellow hazy. Pretty well spiced nose. Coriander, camomille (?), citrus peely, sorta good wit- spicing with lots of saisonny dusty flouryness. Med bodied, well carbonated, flavourful intense. Flavour follows aroma pretty much, light hay malty. Pretty nice flavoured, bit witty spiced, saison.

Gold coloured with a massive white head. Beautiful Belgium complex funk on the nose with plenty of coriander spice. The taste is less complicated but still that funky, spicy taste (hint of chilli) with a surprisingly bitter finish (for a saison). Refreshing. Rated by BrewTom

Barnyard, sweet grain, light esters, herbs. Hazy, pale gold, small, creamy, white head. Light bitter. Yeast, grain, some spiciness in the finish, citrus fruits, grass. Nice Saison, quite like the spicy finish. Keg at BrewDog, Shepherds Bush.
