Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

Clear amber body with minimal, quickly dissipatintg off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet (candy sugar), orange, pepper, floral. Taste is sweet, orange, pepper, light coriander, finishing floral with a gentle alcohol warming. Full, slightly syrupy, and lightly-carbonated body. Many thanks to jcalabre.

22 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a clear and very vivid orange color with a thin head, light lacing and very poor head retention. The aroma is bubblegum, pineapple, banana, cotton candy, clove and caramel. Taste is pineapple, clove and caramel. More tart and earthy than the aroma. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Thanks to TChrome for the trade. As if buying beer wasn't an enjoyable enough experience, doing it for a good cause makes it all the better! This is one of the more enjoyable Tripels I have had to boot. Pours a lightly cloudy and bright yellow-orange/apricot color with a medium thin white head. Thin and quick lacing. Aroma of citrus, banana and hops. Medium-bodied with a nice blend of citrus, pepper, coriander and apricot. The finish has a bit of alcohol kick to it, along with some fruit.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of BMan1113VR) Pours a clear golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma of coriander, ginger, pears, yeast, and toasted grain. Flavor of yeast, coriander, florals, lemon zest, and light clove. Thanks Andrew!

hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2008
22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a medium orangish color with a small sized off whtie head. Aromas of pears, banans, some spices, and citrus. Tastes of the same fruitiness and spices. Some oxidation is starting to set in.

"a beer i enjoyed more than most triples i’ve had before, but it still didn’t stand up to Stone’s bigger beers. Light bodied for the style, some spicy yeastiness - not too aggressive. good but not great flavor...barely noticeable hops."

madsberg (11776) - Søborg, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2004
Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Off white dense head. Yeast, sweetness and malt in the aroma. Spices, yeast, citrus and malt in the flavour. Very belgian. Sweet and malty in the end. Thanks Jeppe for sharing.

daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 6, 2009
Bottle and damn good! Gold/orange color with a white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a subtle note of hops. Spices, sugar and malt come through both on the nose and in the flavor. A slight bit of hops keeps this one balanced very well. I really enjoyed this.

hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 14, 2003
Sparkling clear, beautiful golden ale. Small, fizzy, white head. The nose is malty, fruity, spicy and lemony with a small note of bubblegum. Also a marriage of apricot, pear and clove. The flavor is sweet up front with a burst of the same marriage of apricot, pear and clove. Banana and apple. Well-bittered to mostly balance things out. Full-bodied with a fizzy and astringent mouthfeel. Lengthy, moderately bitter finish. A winner! A good cause too!
