@SLS, April 2015. Chai spice is heavy and the smoke and smaller base beer didn’t stand up to that as awesomely as the IRS (had em side by side). Still pleasant, but subtleties of the base beer are long gone. onceblind (10861) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 18, 2015
Deep black with a lush foamy khaki head. Large chai notes on the nose with a roasty Cocoa earthiness. Big full flavor with more earthy chai than what’s really necessary. Then there’s some smokey earthiness and a bitter cocoa tone underneath. Much too much chai--gets in the way of any nuance trying to peek through. mogydirt (13) - simi valley, California, USA - FEB 7, 2014
Smells great like chocolatey chai, looks like a porter and head is descent. Taste alot of chai which is suprisingly good in this porter. Finishes great. Overall they need to brew more of this and bottle it just for me. Love it JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 14, 2012
A murky brown pour, with an ugly thin bubbly head. Chocolate, a bit of roast and light peat, vanilla, and smooth chai spice. A nice take on the smoked porter. Fairly thin.
