Nice blend of vanilla bean sweetness and smoked malts. Notes of burnt chocolate, caramelized sugar and cream. Well carbonated.

Bottle from Epsom Circle Market. Nice vanilla aroma. Appearance is clear dark reddish brown with 1 finger-sized off white head and nice lacing. Taste is nice vanilla with balance of sweet and bitter, but I don’t get any smokiness. Palate is medium to full bodied with lively (a little too lively) carbonation that initially stings the tip of the tongue a little bit--as it mellows in the glass you get a creaminess at the back of the mouth. Finish is slightly bitter and long. Overall, based on all of the praise for this I expected a little bit more. It is still very good but not the stellar offering we usually come to expect from this brewer.

A disgusting beer, a bad mix, don’t know what the guys (and gals) at Stone were thinking, is a vanil barf bomb.

Un bomber acheté dans le Maine. Une robe brune foncée avec une mousse beige. Un nez plus fumé que vanillé. Une bouche agréable, ronde avec une touche de fumée et une finale iodé avec des notes de vanille. Agréable sans plus.

Pours dark brown with an off white head. Aroma is roasted smoky malt with vanilla and chocolate. Dark, smoky, roasted malt flavor with dark cocoa, vanilla bean and a smoky, dark roasted bitter finish.

Bottle: wasn’t as big of a fan of this as I was hoping I would be. I think it needed a bit more roastiness to balance out the sweet vanilla to me. Just didn’t sit right on my palate.

Appearance: very dark maroon color, can see that it’s clear when held up to the light, pours with a large tan head that settles into a nice density Aroma: coffee, dark roasted malt, Taste: coffee, has a vanilla warmth and sweetness beneath the coffee, bitter finish, Palate: soft carbonation, heavy mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste Overall: a good porter and I like the vanilla, could use a stronger vanilla sweetness but I guess this isn’t a stout, simple and straightforward, very drinkable

Bomber. Poured deep brown with a short-lived tan head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet cocoa, smoked malts, and a hefty dose of vanilla bean.. excellent. The flavor found similar, with a bigger dose of vanilla.. dry and smokier on the finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with low-ish carbonation.. good feel.. great stuff!
