Bottle at tad’s. Pours black, nose is sweet chocolate, vanilla, smoky, taste is similar, dry, a little thin. jamestulloch (4371) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 7, 2015
Bottle from Appellation Wines. Opaque dark brown body with a lasting beige head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of smoked cheese, filter coffee and subtle vanilla. Flavour of lightly smoked malts, milk chocolate and vanilla cream. Medium body with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. An interesting beer, although it becomes a tad cloying. Bottle. Lots of bitterness, no smoke and a fair bit of vanilla. Pours dark brown with a frothy head that thins quickly leaving almost no lacing. Medium and lingering bitterness, weak aroma of vanilla, medium body and a long bitter finish. Kinda ho hum. demannu (451) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Had high expectations for this beer. Smokey? Very much so. Vanilla bean? Not so much. It’s there but I wanted a more pronounced vanilla flavor. Maybe the smoke and bitterness just buried it a bit too much for me. I’m sure others will appreciate it this more than I did.

Pours a dark brown with a hint of amber. Has a strong smoky aroma with chcolate, coffee and vanilla. A very grainy taste with coffee and vanilla. Lingering coffee taste that is very dry. jc1762 (1644) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 26, 2015
On tap at Birth & Barley - shows translucent copper brown with a finger of coffee colored foam. BrettTaylor (784) - Radford, Virginia, USA - FEB 25, 2015
The nose shows overwhelmingly large vanilla with a very subtle smokiness.
The palate starts off with good clean vanilla flavors & completely dry. Vanilla everywhere in the background.Smoke is definitely there but not a very harmonious mix. Bitterness on finish comes from hops and not smoke. Foamy and light bodied with medium carbonation.
Poured from bottle. Aroma - mix of vanilla and smoke. Taste - significantly smoky - they aren’t joking around. Malty, vanilla, almost bourbony back end. Too wood smoky for me. tugboat_801 (24) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - FEB 24, 2015
It could be that I’m sick but just not getting the flavors out if this beer I want. Still very tasty, great notes of vanilla and roasty malts. brandon1989 (705) - Lewisville, Texas, USA - FEB 23, 2015
This beer pours a clear dark brown with some ruby shining through it when held up to the light. There is a medium off white head that left some good lacing around the glass. This beer looks identical to the regular Smoked Porter. The aroma is dark roasted barley, bitter chocolate, and vanilla. The taste is noticeable with the vanilla but it is not overpowering. The smokiness is also very noticeable but also not overpowering. I also pick up chocolate and coffee. The mouthfeel is creamy and on the medium side. The drinkability is really high on this beer, I highly recommend you try it.
