COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

CacheManyHose (767) - HONG KONG - NOV 23, 2015
Had at Matt's when Theresa was round. Opaque black, beige fluffy head, big fluffy lacing. Smells of dusty (mothball-ish though not in bad way) dry roasted cereal malt. Taste is medium to heavy bitterness, roast/burnt malt, somewhat thin. Body is thin, burnt malt, small carbonation. Not that smoky, dusty nose, taste and palate kind of thin.

Appearance: clear amber-brown, one fat finger of creamy light tan head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: smoke, roasty malt, mild chocolate and coffee. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter, light smoke. (8/10) Medium-full creamy body, moderate carbonation, short duration slightly smoky finish. (4/5) Good looking and nicely balanced, with the smoke being definitively present, yet not overwhelming. Pretty simple flavours, with just the basics on both the nose and tongue, but decently done. (16/20)
