COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

Great color and aroma, off in a little in the flavor, maybe more coffee taste would be appropriate

Really enjoyed this (more-so after it got a bit warmer). Pour damn near black.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2008 pours deep dark brown with a slight head that looks almost creamy. stays lacy throughout. I Don’t get an overwhelming smokiness like the name would suggest... at least not like you’d find in a Paradox (Brew Dog). Great, solid brew. This beer improves greatly with warming, finding a nice balance.

Pours a rich mahogany with a foamy tan head and great lacing. A smoky chocolate aroma, lots of smoke in the flavor, a bit acrid at first, but layers develop as you drink it, coffee and chocolate dominant. Great creamy mouth. Excellent and complex brew.

Deep brown, thin mocha coloured head. Aroma: light wood smoke, cocoa, roasted malts. Taste: wood/bbq smoke, dark chocolate, bitter espresso, American hops, slighty woody. Finishes dry and bitter, with a hint of cigrarette smoke. Slightly watery palate, medium carbonation. Balanced and flavourful.

Bottle, 22 oz. Pours black with a tan head. Smoky and roasty malt aroma with sweet dark fruit notes. The palate is met with sweet malt, then hops for a slightly bitter finish. I would have enjoyed some more smokiness, but it’s still good.

at first i was a bit intimidated... but it was really good... very dark with white head, and smells of chocolate and coffee.

Bottle. Nice dark color, with a small tan head. Nice lacing, though. Aroma is smoke with a bit of malt. Taste is a smooth smoke flavor. Finishes smooth. A very nice porter, smooth yet with a bit of smoke bite.
