A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

(Bottle)Pours nice fluffy tan head. Enjoyed smell but though the smoke scent wasnt strong enough. Hints of of chocolate and coffee. The smoked taste was not really what i expected and maybe could of been stronger. it kinda threw me off alittle. Pretty decent brew but could use alittle improvement in the flavor. Not bad though.

Nice dark pour with a smoke and malt aroma. Flavor was balanced with coffee, licorice, cherry, and a touch of chocolate. the porter finished long and dry with slight hints of bitter. Very good porter and is worth repeat visits.

Robust with smoke and chocolate aroma. Deep dark color with medium tan head. Very well balanced roasted malt, smoke and coffee flavors. A very delicious porter that I highly recommend!

A very fine porter. Roasted malt, cocoa, some hints of coffee, and a nice smokiness that strangely smooths out this beer. Well done!

Wow. I finally tried this stuff. Picked up a bomber from Jaspers in Nashua. Pours like oil, black and completely opaque. Cream colored one finger head that recedes quickly. Vanilla, caramel, coffee, and maybe licorice (?) in the aroma. Full bodied mouthfeel, roasty malt character, chocolate, medium sweetness, smokiness, and just a bit of hop on the backend. This was a fantastic brew, and replaces Anchor as my favorite porter.

Pours like the black of night. A nice white to off white head develops. Aroma is roasted malt and smoke. Flavor is deep smoked and roasted malt with a nice countering bitterness. Quite dry finish, but that cleans it all up. Quite tasty. Mouthfeel is substantial but not quite coating which is appropriate for a porter, but I would call this basically an Imperial Porter. Drinkability is great considering this is very flavorful brew.

Pours dark dark brown from the bottle. Lots of coffee and smoke in the nose. Makes me crave gouda cheese. Flavor didnt leave me dissapointed at all, mostly roasted coffee, and dark chocolate, but definate smokiness in the finish. Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy a bit. Quality brew.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2008 Pours dark brown with a robust 2+ finger head which left nice medium lacing on the glass. Aroma has notes of coffee and a hint of smoke. Flavor has notes of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. The smoke is subordinate. Very dry slightly bitter finish. Mouth feel is medium and very smooth.

Jet black in a medium light environment. Nice sized off white head. Detectable chocolate and coffee flavors. Excellent beer!

Bottle. Deep brown pour, hints of dark red around the edges, generous light tan head that left good lacing behind. Aroma is slightly smoky, some roasty malt notes to complement. Flavor is mostly smoky, some earthy flavors in there too, roasty, and a nice bitter note as it finishes. Medium bodied, carbonation and smoky flavor leaves a pleasant sensation in my mouth. Overall, another solid Stone beer.
