Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium disappearing head with nice lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and some peat smoke. Flavor of sweet malt, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee with moderate carbonation and a slight bitterness that leaves a dryness on the mouth. Really, really nice porter. Dark, rich, creamy, these are all good characteristics of this beer. This bark brown colored brew with a brownish head has lot of complexities in it’s smell. But thr taste is where I found myself being amazed, the malt and hops blend, the smoky after taste and the hint of toffee and chocolate make this a good smoked porter.

(Bottle)Pours nice fluffy tan head. Enjoyed smell but though the smoke scent wasnt strong enough. Hints of of chocolate and coffee. The smoked taste was not really what i expected and maybe could of been stronger. it kinda threw me off alittle. Pretty decent brew but could use alittle improvement in the flavor. Not bad though. brew4all (103) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 29, 2006
Nice dark pour with a smoke and malt aroma. Flavor was balanced with coffee, licorice, cherry, and a touch of chocolate. the porter finished long and dry with slight hints of bitter. Very good porter and is worth repeat visits. beergod (103) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 18, 2008
Stone Smoked Porter pours a very dark blk/brn with a tan colored head. Nose is of smokey roasted cuffee beans. Think a french roast. Taste is nice smokey malt like that of a non-acidic coffee! full bodied and the smoked flavor is definetly present. This beer would be great in chilli,or a stew. or on a nice cold night!

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2010 This stuff is delicious. Lightly bitter, chocolaty coffee. The smoked flavor complimented it very well. I took their advice from the bottle and had it with some chocolate. They were right . It was like a match made in heaven (Well maybe not that ridiculous but hey it was good) kidrobot (103) - Port Charlotte, New Jersey, USA - JUN 25, 2010
I have had this beer sitting in my fridge for about 4 months and I just had a chance to crack it. I shouldnt have waited. This beer is great, the smoke isnt too overwhelming and I sense chocolate and in the mix JohnMan (102) - Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2011
A very fine porter. Roasted malt, cocoa, some hints of coffee, and a nice smokiness that strangely smooths out this beer. Well done! ZepolK (102) - South Side Montebello, California, USA - NOV 21, 2003
Robust with smoke and chocolate aroma. Deep dark color with medium tan head. Very well balanced roasted malt, smoke and coffee flavors. A very delicious porter that I highly recommend! jables (101) - Champaign, Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2004
Pours like the black of night. A nice white to off white head develops.
Aroma is roasted malt and smoke.
Flavor is deep smoked and roasted malt with a nice countering bitterness. Quite dry finish, but that cleans it all up. Quite tasty.
Mouthfeel is substantial but not quite coating which is appropriate for a porter, but I would call this basically an Imperial Porter.
Drinkability is great considering this is very flavorful brew.
