A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

Pours a beautiful ebony color, inpenerable by light. Nice finger size tan head, respectable lace for the remainder of the glass. Smells of chocolate, coffee, fire malt and smoke. Taste is full, with the coffee and roasted malt up front, thinning to a nice solid medium hop finish that has a slight smokey tingle towards the back of the tongue. Mouthfeel is a strong medium. Nice bold, pungent porter with relentless charcoal and wood undertones. This porter is bold but smooth. Firey!

Nice brown head that didnt have a lot of retention. The aroma is dominated (of course) by a nice brick smokehouse type smell. The chocolate and coffee are there but overpowered. The chocolate seems to come out a bit more in the flavor and thats good because I dont generally like my smoked porters to taste like beef jerky. The mouthfeel was rather thin for a porter and the finish was quick and uneventfull. I was happy with this beer as far as the style goes but wouldnt go out of my way for it. This is the best Smoked Porter Ive ever had. Unfortunately, that list isnt very distinguished.

The Stone Smoked Porter pours almost black with a fluffy light brown head, but embodies a very red hue when you hold it up to a light. The flavors of smoke and roasted malt are more subtle than I would have expected, especially from Stone co. but the beer is more drinkable than I expected too. A pleasant porter.

not a huge fan of porters personally. this one does have a unique smoked flavor that is quite enjoyable. the bistro makes an outstanding smoked porter bbq sauce that i’m sure would be good on just about anything! yum

Very smooth. Dark pour, thick head. Reminds me of Guinness. Tasty with only a hint of smokey roasted taste. Good beer.

Pours black with a nice white head. Good flavor with a hints of dark roasted coffee and chocolate. Let this one warm up and more flavors start to pop up. Another fine beer from Stone

An excellent smoked porter. I sensed so much of a ghosty quality in this beer that it nearly scared my pants off. My pants came off shortly after, but for completely unrelated reasons. Best smoked porter Ive had thus far.

22 oz bottle. It tastes just like I’m eating a BBQ. Smoke, oak, coffee, chocolate. Very easy to drink, I just with it had a higher ABV. Great for drinking outdoors on a hot day.
