COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

22oz bottle. Pours almost black with a medium, slightly tan head. Taste upfront is dry with just hints of dark cocoa and espresso. Then the smoke hits. Definitely the most pronounced taste but not overpowering. Good beer but not exceptional.

A very dark and smoky porter. Poured in to a Libbey Porter/Stout glass. Looks beautiful with a thick off-white head. Carbonation is just right in my opinion. Flavor got more complex as the beer warmed up. Would definitely repeat.

This beer has a lot of character for a porter. Cofee, chocholate, malt, and hops are all present in a nice combination. Can’t wait to try their RIS.

22 oz bottle. Pours black with a tan long-lasting head. Aroma of dark chocolate, fruit, coffee, and slight smoke. Taste of malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel, cream, and a hint of smoke. Creamy body with a slight kick. Aftertaste of coffee and chocolate. A very nice porter.

Has a slighty smokey coffee aroma. Nice dark appearance. Good smokey chocolate taste, a little bittersweet.

Growler fill at CBX. Pours a dark black with lots of tan head. Nothing overwhelming about the aroma, but a bit of sweet and coffee. Great lacing down the glass as it is being devoured. The boilerplate description of this beer serves it well so I don’t have much to add. Some sweet (chocolate) and coffee taste with a subtle hint of smokiness. Nothing overwhelms the other and they are very well balanced into a delicious drink.

Great dark dark color, almost black with creamy head. Aroma of thick malts with plenty of smoke and it tastes just like it smells. Great beer as usual from Stone.

Bold look, sophisticated taste-- this beer understands the dance of malt and bitter in a profound way. The smoke blows a kiss dry chocolate and clean coffee character of this beer. First rate.
