This is my favorite of all the Stone brews. It's smooth, a tad bitter, with just enough tang to make a good piece of chocolate taste really great. TedStryker (5) - Oceanside, New York, USA - APR 5, 2005 does not count
Iíve had this on tap and just had it last night by the bottle. Itís a really great beer, with a nice smoked flavor. Itís just a great porter and well drkz007 (1) - USA - JUL 27, 2005 does not count
This beer is above and beyond one of the all time best dark beers that you can have whenever and whatever still you prefer DreamFragments (11) - Nevada, USA - MAR 15, 2007
Another one of Stoneís excellent beers. The smokiness is immediately noticeable, along with flavors like caramel, coffee and chocolate. contagion (9) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 7, 2010 does not count
"Tastes like black" is usually what I tell my friends who ask about it. Pour is viscous with little head, scent and taste are very dark. The coffee, chocolate, and smoke blend together well without any part dominating. Delicious even in a bottle.

This is a dam good beer! I will be brewing it myself soon! aroma is sweet and smokey and it looks scary. The taste starts and ends with a slight smokiness. Nice job Stone! 721Lance (82) - Oceanside Ca, California, USA - MAR 11, 2015
Perfect smoke porter, great thing is that this porter does not have the mesquite phenolics most smoke brews do. Great smoky roast aroma, nice body but nit stout like, clean clean finish. Great beer. PugUglyBrewer (616) - - SEP 18, 2016
A grown manís porter. Poured from a bomber interesting a tulip glass. The pour produces a dense 2 finger light tan head. The appearance is a rustic dark brown with a black core and garnet hue at the outer edges. The aroma is sweet caramel and bakers chocolate with smoke and small amount of wood and earth. The flavor is caramel up front with toasted and roasted grain. Then comes the smokey malt bomb. The finish is long and pleasantly dry. Prostman (1077) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2002
This beer rocks. Looks just like the picture. The color is deep brown/amber...almost black with a consistent tan head. The taste is very roasty with only the tiniest smokiness you can think of. A suberb example of a porter and one, if not my favorite porter. FatsoMcGee (1) - USA - FEB 13, 2004 does not count
Had this on tap at DBA in NYC and was knocked out. I usually do not like any beer with the word "smoked" in the name, but ordered it cause it was the only Stone brew offered that day & it was simply amazing. Tasty as hell - without being "too" anything. Subtle waves of flavor!
