COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

it’s an average porter. poors a dark brown and minimal head and lacing. Aroma of smoked malt and coffee. There is a definitive hop presence in the taste and the malt, chocolate and coffee is an aftertaste.

Had at Matt's when Theresa was round. Opaque black, beige fluffy head, big fluffy lacing. Smells of dusty (mothball-ish though not in bad way) dry roasted cereal malt. Taste is medium to heavy bitterness, roast/burnt malt, somewhat thin. Body is thin, burnt malt, small carbonation. Not that smoky, dusty nose, taste and palate kind of thin.

Delicious traditional smoked porter. Subtly smoked, light with big coffee and chocolate notes in the malt. Subtle, rounded fruity hops. Brings back memories of wintertime evening drinking at blind tiger on W10th for some reason.

Tap @ Beer Temple, sample size. Very dark color, but not quite black/opaque. Frothy, light beige head. Aroma’s: light smoke, light roasted, very mild really. Retronasal there’s a bit more to it: smokey, roasted malts. Flavor is roasted, hardly sweet. Light bodied. Finishes with light tar, moderate bitter.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2016 650ml bottle. Pours a fairly thick frothy creamy brownish head and has a very dark brown appearance with ruby highlights. Lacing is fairly thick and dirty. Aromas of toasted malts, barley, smokey and mild spice notes. Flavours are somewhat sweet at first but has much more smokey notes afterwards. Lots of toasty and roasted malt flavours. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Good retention.

Dark black with little head. Tastes mildly sweet, light smoke wood. Nice. Oddly, very smokey burp afterwards.

Goryczka niska do średniej ,wysycenie w normie. Fajny klasyczny porter muśnięty wędzonką, jak dal mnie mogliby z tym pójść na całość, po piwo trochę bez charakteru.

Chocolatey, dry, with good complexity and balance, but only a touch of smoke.
