Pitch black with a tan head. Excellent retention and lacing in the glass. Tons of oaky notes on the nose with spicy undertones. The smoke is present, but some coffee and caramel persist as well. Mouth coating and one that I couldn’t put down. Imaena (2315) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - DEC 20, 2012
Bottle and Draught. This is one of my favorites. The smokiness is subtle and sits well over the complex balance of hops and roasted malts. dhunter151 (590) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Pours jet black with a thick tan head that quickly dissipates. Smell of smoke but not overwhelming. Tastes of coffee and smoke, with a crisp finish. Very good beer.

Dark brown porter with nice off white head. Smell is wonderful smokey malt on the nose with a roasty malts taste with a burnt finish. A true delight! 99 Dorkasaur666 (12) - - AUG 18, 2013
I love this stuff. Not very smoky but I’m never disappointed when I open a bottle.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a very dark brown beer with ruby red highlights. It has chocolate and red fruity flavours, a smoked/roasted body and a spicy red fruit, citrus, chocolate, oak and zesty and fruity finish. Excellent! AAEA (266) - California, USA - MAY 9, 2014
1pt 6fl.oz ($4.99) First time trying anything from Stone. pretty good, like the flavor a lot. It really doesn’t taste like anything else and is a great match with BBQ and grilled meats. I liked it and will buy again tsd08460 (1131) - Marshall, Virginia, USA - FEB 18, 2016

Pours black with nice tan head. Not a strong smell. Taste is rich but slightly tangy with a strong finish of smoke which I love. Very nice.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. The appearance is a near pitch black pour with a medium sized tan head. the aroma is a nice blend of smoke, malt and cocoa. The taste is malt driven with some smoke. An outstanding beer.
