cool additions to an awesome black IPA. the orange peel amplifies the citrus and the bitter chocolate amplifies both the dark roast and bitterness. slightly sweeter.

(Critique chaotique du extreme beer fest 2013): Une des nombreuse claque sua yeule de cette fin de semaine. Goute exactement les oranges cadbury qu’on frappe sur le comptoir avec la touche houblonnee de stone, fabuleux.

Pouring at the Saturday sessions of Extreme Beerfest. Pours a deep brown with a thin white to beige head. Roast and orange zest on the nose. Chocolate, zest, cocoa, big earthy hops. Chocolate and cocoa, long roast and chewy chocolate.

On tap at EBF 3/16/13. Light roasty malts with an onslaught of citrus and pine. The addition of chocolate and orange peel add a really nice layer to this beer.

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Tulip is a deep brown/ borderline black with thin white head. Nose is orange peel and citrus hops. Bitter chocolate up front with a touch of citrus hops leading into a lightly bitter finish. The orange peel shows up during the sip. Also it seems like a like coriander seed is in here. Some pine hints. Nothing really flows together well here. I’m not convinced with this brew. The flavor is all over the place. Not sure if a Black IPA mixed with a Belgian Wit should really be a hybrid style. This really is odd.

Black pour with a small tan head. Amazingly intense orange aroma. Nice chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt aromas, too. A hint of alcohol and very light hops. The orange is just a bit too much on the palate and tastes a little off, almost a bit plastic. Bitter dark chocolate and roasted malt, coffee, and pine. Subtle molasses sweetness, grass, and minimal sweetness.

roast aroma, slightly chocolate tone as well. The orange is a nice tinge on the finish as the flavor is mostly dominated by roasted chocolate and bitterness.

On tap at brewery. black with a short lived fluffy white head. Aroma of earthy chocolate, licorice, peat, roasted grain, and spice. Oily medium bodied palate. Tastes of rich chocolate, orange, coriander, roasted grain, and vanilla with a nice bitter bite to the finish. Outstanding.

Not really much taste, which is really shocking. Black color, white head. A bit of coco smell. Slick mouth feel with a bit of fizz. Bitter on the palate. Kind of tastes like orange pith. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at stone bistro. Dark brown pour, with a thin off white head. Bitter hops, pine, dark chocolate, lots of orange mid palate, moderate sweetness, finishes bitter and slightly roasty. Like one of those chocolate oranges, accept bitter and hoppy.
