Sample pour at the Tasting Room, primarily as a dare, since I generally hate pale ales of all varieties. Pours cloudy dark golden with no head. Aroma is fruit and some spice, maybe coriander. Taste shows some maltiness and fruitiness initially, before being overrun by the major hop backbone, with some lemon bite joining in. Finish retains bitterness. This beer certainly isn't going to change my mind on pale ales, but if you're into that kind of beer, this is a darned good one.

Taster pour at Cigarette City. Appearance is lightly hazy dark yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width head with decent retention. Aroma is cracker-biscuit malts with some grassy, earthy hops. Taste is as aroma. Palate light-to-medium bodied, average carbonation with finish as taste. Overall, a solid APA with the right amount of balance between malts and hops.

Clear gold with nice foam. Aroma and taste seem quite muted, maybe just in relation to the previous ipa.

On draft at Stoneface. The pour is a clear golden straw color, light haziness, with a thick white head that falls down with a decent bit of lacing. The aroma is citrusy and grassy. It’s light, but those are the two aromas that remain prominent. The flavor is a little more malty, but there is a hefty citrus and a good lemongrass throughout. It’s really interesting and incredibly simple. The mouth feel is thinner and light with a softer carbonation and a lingering hoppy and grassy finish. Not too shabby
