An altogether enjoyable brew, with a creamy oat nose, mingling with caramel, as it sits deep and dark in the glass with a teasingly effervescent butterscotch head. The first sip releases coca cola, oats, barley and caramel all rolling together with s nicely understated alcohol warmth against a coffee and chocolate base. Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a slow dissipating beige head that has some nice lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some oatmeal, dark chocolate, some coffee and a touch of molasses. Taste is smooth, toasty malt with a good balance of chocolate and coffee character. Finish has a toasted malt aftertaste that slowly disappears. Nice profile for this brewpub’s dry stout. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - NOV 24, 2010
On tap at brewry, pours a blackish brown with a nice dark head, the aroma is full of malt, chocolate and coffee, the taste is more coffee than cocolate but has a great roasty finish, well done! DavidP (1748) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 19, 2006
My first Stonefly nee Onopa beer. Black body, foamy tan head. Dry roasted malt aroma. Roast and chocolate in the flavor with acidic grape skin/cherry at the end. Lasting malt roast overal in the finish; medium mouthfeel. A tasty stout, it has a good mix of chocolate malt and roast. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 31, 2007
Pours to a very dark black/brown body with a thin but dense tan nitro head. The aroma is creamy, milky, chocolatey, and roasty. The flavor is creamy dry/sweet chocolate. The palate is nicely smooth, dry, and creamy and is perfect for an Irish stout. Quite good.

Nearly opaque dark brown brew with a light tan head of cascading bubbles. Big roasted malt and light cocoa scents. Nothing complex, but certainly nothing wrong with it. Dry mocha flavors. A touch astringent, but a crisp dry stout. Longer dry roast linger. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 8, 2008
On tap at Stonefly. Poured very deep garnety-brown with a nice cap of yellowy-tan head. The aroma picked up lightly-roasted chocolate, coffee, and caramel… sweet overall with a touch of herbal accent.. rather simple, but quite nice. The flavor had caramel and chocolate on the sweet base.. lightly-roasted.. grainy chocolate and coffee on the finish, along with a bit of tea and cocoa.. bitter-sweet finish.. tasty. Lighter-bodied on the palate with OK balance & flow. nuplastikk (6289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 26, 2012
Draft at Stonefly. Pretty shabby pour into what appears to be less than a pint glass. Pitch black brown, beige head. Roasty chocolate flavor. Watery, medium body. OK, sessionable, a little touch of moss. Lacks much depth, but no off flavors. Toasty vanilla roast. Decent. prosqtor (408) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 8, 2008
Beerfest in Chilton. Dark brown, malty, smooth. Nice but nothing outstanding. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 6, 2010
On tap at Stonefly brewpub. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal and mild chocolate. Creamy body tastes of chocolate, oatmeal, roasted dark malt and a hint of coffee. Easy on the palate and one of their better offerings. The buttery/diacetyl that seems prevalent in some of their other brews isn’t apparent here.
