Cask at the George, Croydon. It pours clear brown with a small beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, caramel, toasty sugars, wood, berry and nut. The taste is smooth, fruity sweetness, berry, wood, leather, mild spice, light bitterness and cereal with a short, dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Not a whole lot to it, but it’s drinks pretty nice. Alright. Stuu666 (14806) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 25, 2014

Aroma a bit malty. Appearance amber. Taste weak but warm after a while on the palate. Overall sort of average. Warmth best feature. But this was weak. SarkyNorthener (4847) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2014

Cask (backlog). Reddish ambery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild toasted malts, caramel, some spices and mild floral and raisiny notes. Flavour is sweet malts, mild toasted notes, some spices, ripe dark fruits, raisins and some slight floral biterness as well. tombyars (1766) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 12, 2011
First tasted this at the Hogshead, Paisley in December 1994. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear ruby red in colour with a thin creamy white head. Light caramel and fruity malt in the short aroma. Creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a moist base of maltloaf with juicy sultanas, figs, cherries and redcurrants. Spicy hop resins add to the festive aftertaste with dryness. Finish is smooth and warming with a alcoholic vinous edge. One of the better festive ales out there.
