Note: The recipe for this beer has changed - at one point it used the Pam hop variety instead of Willamette. However, it is not known when the recipe changed so it is not practicable to consider separate listings.

Brewed at OG 1037 and ABV 3.8%. A golden, hoppy beer made with Maris Otter Pale Ale malt, First Gold hops for bitterness and for aroma, the new hop, Willamette is adding a tempting nose to this very palatable golden brew.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20170407) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had grass, earth and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, earth, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A nice English style pale ale.

Draught. This is a bog standard golden ale with nothing to distinguish it from the herd.

Cask @ O’Connell’s
Forms a lasting head(!) Aroma is quite nothing. Perhaps some cardboard, hay and fruits. Flavour has bready malt, some hay, fruits and hints of hops. A bit sour and leathery feeling with lactic acid. Not good.

Pours a golden colour is pretty standard for its category. Not too much to to get excited about: Lightly hopped, with a small hint of fruit in the flavour and mildly citric aroma. It is pleasantly drinkable, without really taking the palate by storm.

Cask at Kitty’s, Helsinki, Finland.
Clear golden colour with average sized foamy white head. Mild citric aroma with toffee and spices. Malt and caramel in flavour with some citric notes. Flat.

Cask (Angleterre, Helsinki)
Rich orange, small loose head. Slightly eggy farty aroma. Carbonation low, refreshing palate. Huge light grain body, some touch of ginger. Lovely and refreshing and grainy - great to session I’m sure.
