Got this beer on cask at The Marlborough Arms in Chester. Appearance: Dark hazy golden honey in colour, with a small creamy head. No carbonation. Aroma: Sweet on the nose, with a subtle hoppiness. Clear notes of grapefruit. Taste: Peppery sweetness at the start, with a slight sugary hit. Mild honey. There is a bitter floral ending, with clingy hop flavours. Mouthfeel: Medium body, slightly thin, with a kind of greasy texture. Drinkability: Good hearty British bitter. Very drinkable and moreish. I will definitely be looking at the other beer produced by Stonehouse Brewery.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with some hints of caramel and some fruity hints. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish.

Lots of small dimples on top of an amber-copper body. Lemon-hoppy aroma. Rounded apricot flavour with a backdrop of dry bitterness. Pleasant summer feeling (Cask from The Bar Nouveau at GBBF, 07.08.2008).

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival, September 2007. Golden in colour but tends more towards a best bitter in style. Fairly dry with a firm bitterness but marred somewhat by a prominent and intrusive whiff of diacetyl in the aroma. A shame about that as, otherwise, its a decent enough beer.

Soft aroma and practically no head. Nice dry taste with a lot of fruity flavours in the background. Makes a nice change, but not something I’d want to drink on a regular basis.

Cask at the Admiral Benbow, Shrewsbury, Salop, 19-10-07 This poured dark golden in colour with barely any head at all. The aroma was soft and malty and lacking slightly, but the taste really was superb, it was quite sweet with honey and yet had a real citrussy dry, bitter, hooky taste curl on the end. There was even a little sweet cherry sat in the background to finish on.
