Calisky (2941) - ALSACE, FRANCE - MAY 26, 2017
Couleur champagne très très claire, bonne mousse. Nez vieille pelure de pomme. Gout jus de pommes un peu verte avec vieilles pommes, note acidulé. Classique, sans plus

Bottle 50cl, a clear yellow cider. Nose is light on apple juice, taste is dry with acid notes, aroma on dust and old apples. Nothing very interesting.

Maker: Nohoval Brewing Co, Cork, Ireland. *** Cider: Finbarra (= Stonewell) Dry Irish Craft Cider (bottled, 500ml). *** Style: Dry Cider. *** ALC.VOL.: 5.5%. *** "Made with fresh juice from Dabinett, Michelin, Jonagored, Elstar & Falstaff apple varieties." (cidery note) *** Colour: Bright yellow, no head. *** Nose: Sweet and soour apples. *** Mouthfeel: Soft carbonation, medium body. Slightly watery. *** Taste: Initially medium sweet ripe apples, with a hint of vinegar. Dry towards the middle, apple peel, lemon. Lemony finish, with mix of apples and lemon in the aftertaste. *** Impressions: Not quite as dry as advertised, but not quite sweet enough to qualify as "medium sweet". Good fruity taste, refreshing lemon notes. Well made cider.

Bottle shared at home thanks to Mrk. Vintage 2015. Clear pale golden with thin ring head, no bubbling. Sweet apple, banana and cherry flavored candy. Over medium sweet, light lemony tartness. Thin body, soft carbonation.

(bottle) slightly hazy golden colour with the smallest white head. aroma of cow skins, apple vinegar and black olives, rather funky and dirty, with a touch of caramel and oxidized meat. flavour is mostly the same, lots of apple juice, olives and raw meat, with a light sweetness and some sugar icing in the finish. medium-bodied with lively carbonation. nah.

500 ml. bottle sampled as “Finnbarra Dry Irish Craft Cider” @ “Kaapse Brouwers 1st Anniversary Beer Festival”. Golden. Nose is quite sweet & basic apple. Tastes a bit chemical, sulfite, makes me think of artificial sweeteners, sweet. Dry, rather meh.

500ml bottle from Beerdock Crewe as Finnbarra Dry Cider. Pours pale yellow with strong fruity taste and some firm tannins to make it moreish. Very good.
