MIBG Fest: Nice bitterness in the flavor, almost all iron and earth, typical cascade-type hop aroma, malt understated, certainly not sweet. ClarkVV (6708) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 25, 2003
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2004 Smells hoppy and with a touch of yeast. Light orange with some amber hues. moderately cloudy. Small white head. Begins with a big full Pacif NW hops flavor with alot of warm orange alcohol tones. Has a nice clean body, medium full and ends with a dissipating flavor. A well balanced/constructed beer. Has some nice yeast/malt complexity in the finish that brings out a bitter, fuzzy sensation. Has a nice biscuity flavor as well. Great beer overall. Thanks again to Sierra Nevada which made all beers like this possible. Rerate. 2004 draught. Still a nice cascades hops flavor and a decent malt, but finish is short and seems lifeless. Weird, what's going on here? This last visit has me downgrading all of their beers. redlem (1306) - Ohio, USA - JUL 6, 2003
Whoa, a very hazy amber with lots of sediment( I hope it is unfiltered) and a small white head. Pacific hops aroma, caramel malt, soap. Starts off with a malt taste but the dry hops finish soon takes over. Not bad. Flyfish (5) - USA - FEB 5, 2003 does not count
(Draft) Not usually a big fan of Pale Ales but I have to admit this is one of the best I have tried. Unfiltered, the hop aroma is great with a smooth balanced finish. Worth the drive to Detroit. Jfishback13 (273) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - NOV 20, 2002
I’m still not a fan of Pale Ale’s, but this was a pretty good eefort. Decently hopped and a decent beer.

A very nice beer good head with lots of lace. Lots of hop flavor and not overy carbonated. hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - FEB 10, 2002
A decent effort, with some malt backbone that is just enough to hold up the hops. It’s not aggressively hopped, but the cascades show well.
