Indeed red with a huge beige foam, laces. Aromas of caramel, yeast, compote, earth and hop. The taste is dry, but rich and strong without heavyness. Fruity with notes of citrus, earthy bitter and a lack of roundness.

(330ml bottle from Drinks of the World, Geneva) Gusher. Pours murky pale copper with a huge dense cream cap that lingers with sheets of lace. Aroma has sweet caramel and bready malt, golden raisin, candied orange, light hop bittering. Palate drier than nose, Munich malt, caramel touches, some hop bitterness and grain on the astringent, bone dry finish and aftertaste. Maybe a touch of orange but otherwise no fruit. Medium body, light carb. Rather one dimensional and boring. Maybe not so fresh.

Bov (13004) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 9, 2015
from Drinks of the World, Bern - hazy dark reddish-brown beer under a solid long lasting beige foam; nice lacework; grapefruity hoppiness with notes of plums and apples; velvety palate, full-bodied and decently bitter; long fruity hoppy finish yet with some lack of volume and intensity

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a magnificent dark and cloudy amber color forming a medium creamy and thin bubbled beige head. Good retention. Tons of lingering and soapy lacings formed and left in the glass. S: Very hoppy. Strong notes of grass and earth. Hops profile is a mix of grassy, flowery, piny and peppery notes. Strong notes of caramel malts. Yeasts are American S05 for sure :). T: Follows the notes a very grassy and earthy mouth. Sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel and cara malts. Strong notes of S05 American yeasts. Great bittersweet balance. Roasted malts notes. M: Medium body and carbonation. Grassy, peppery and earthy aftertaste. Bittersweet. O: Great drinkability. Strong hops profile. Excellent Ale.

Ruby color with brown foam. The smell is a little underwhelming. The taste is tart and bitter, yet fresh and a little too roasted. The aftertaste is dry and tart. The beer became better. If you aren’t really convinced at first, give it a little time.

Pretty much as before. Nicely aroma-hopped Red Ale, just a bit of malts, taste is with hints of coffee.
