Note: Don’t confuse it with Bernstein-Weizen Bio!

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2011 Bottle. Very bananany aroma, light candyish. Nice cloudy orange, creamy head. Wheaty, quite sweet bananabread. Medium to light body. Slightly too sweet and one-dimensional.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2006 [Bottled] Hazy yellow, rich head. Estery raspberry aroma. Sweet and soft with lovely yeast induced character. Plenty of band aid. Despite it’s sweetness it remains very refreshing.

(bottle from Yogi_Beera – Danke !) Cloudy and hazy pale golden colour with a fluffy white foam. Not really amber (Bernstein-)coloured as the name promises. Slightly sweet wheat-malty, banana-fruity and yeasty nose. Sweet and slightlty sour-fruity flavour, light to medium bodied; smooth carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Wheaty banana taste; yeasty and fruity finish with a dense touch of cloves. Decent, smooth and not too spicy Weizen.

Bottle. Hazy orange colour. Longlasting white head. Aroma of bananas and citrus. Flavor of wheat and bananas and some hints of yeast. Some hints of bitterness in the aftertaste.

rauchbier (3956) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2005
Bottle, courtesy of the Danes @ ZBF 2005. Hazy yellow, thin off white head and gentle condition. Low banana fruitiness in the nose, pleasant estery banana sweetness in the mouth and a gently fruity a yeast bitter finish.

Engelsmann (651) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 24, 2005
Bottle. Pours light golden/yellow. Aroma is yeasty bananish. Taste some wheat, and banana.

MiP (16082) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 19, 2005
Bottle. Hint of banana aroma. Unclear golden colour, small creamy head......

JorisPPattyn (10137) - BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2005
Fully hazy peach colour; virtually no head. Banana, cloves, esters, nothing extraordinary, nothing wrong. Taste again banana(mash) and more cloves. Wheat obvious. Medium bodied, wheat slickness; mash as said. Too run-of-the-mill Weizen, wherever it hails from. Nothing special.

pivo (2689) - GERMANY - FEB 20, 2005
Well, for a N. German weizen is this pretty darn good. Huge clovey, banana nose. Pale orange color and a fluffy creamy head. Weak wheat grainy body with some cardboard tastes. But the big banana taste with a sweetish end dominates. Creamy mouthfeel and a soft carbonation and texture.
