Beautiful roasted, slightly smoky flavor with generous sweetness from a mellow malt. Perle hops are mild and round off a beautiful boquet. Extremely well made. Gangstergafje (1142) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - MAY 12, 2015
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2015 The beer is pitch black on the eye. With a light behind it, you can distinguish a dark ruby red tint. Beautiful. The thick layer of foam, which had a slightly light almond color, disapears to leave a thin drape of foam. The smell is delicious. Aroma’s of roasted barley, coffee, dark chocolate and the light aroma of a fresh Irish lager from the tap. The taste has all these beautiful flavors as well. There are those bitter roasted barley tones, combined with a coffee, dark chocolate and toffee inferno. This beer has a lot of taste. In the finish there is a sweet alcohol aroma at first, later this makes place for the bitter smokey roster barley, which stays there for a pleasant time. The beer has a nice palate. Not to gassy and not to flat, the perfect middle. beeracoon (511) - - NOV 16, 2012
Medium brownish head. Cocoa colour. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Malty taste and a wonderfully roasty chocolate palate. andrewboss (137) - New York, USA - JUN 13, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2007 Bottle. Dark color with a very rich taste. Very underrated beer! This is a must for fans of dark, bitter beer. ferryman72 (58) - NORWAY - AUG 9, 2014
Surprisingly tasty. Oozes of quality yet the price suggests budget brewing. I’m buying this as often as I can.

Excellent beer, a porter-stout rather than a Schwarzbier. Very fine roasty taste, nice bitter creaminess, very harmonious. Nice artwork, too. thedm (6181) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 14, 2004
The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 94. This bottled brew poured a large head of frothy large sized long lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was transparent and dark brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of nice dark beer brown malts. Its mouth feel was initially smooth with a dark brown malty palate and a malty aftertaste. Its flavor contained nice sweet malts with mild caramel notes. A very good brew that I really enjoyed drinking. More please! Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 17, 2007
bottle, bought at Norma. Black colour, medium-size very creamy and persistent beige-coloured head. Lovely aroma of malt, roasted malt and caramel. Full-bodied, lots of flavours playing on the palate: malt, roasted malt, caramel, chcoolate, toffee... Slightly hoppy. Very pleasant mouthfeel/palate. Well-balanced, neither too sweet nor too dry - just perfect - briliant! Beerbarella (348) - - NOV 16, 2012
500 ml bottle. Great artwork on the bottle. Pours dark brown with medium brownish head. Roasty malt aroma. Tastes roasty malty, but a tad watery. I would like it better if it were a bit sweeter. hoptimusPrimed (155) - SPAIN - JUL 22, 2014
A very well balanced dark beer with a nice deep colour, good head and went down easily.
