Got a HUGE bottle of this which necessitated getting out my Gordon Biersch 'viking mug'. Amber colored with a rather thick head and some lacing was evident. Light hops in the aroma but nothing very aggressive. Flavor was a little light on the hops too but not too bad, and was slightly sweet in the finish. Cool patriotic label. igneous1 (1538) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - AUG 19, 2002
deep golden/amber color, non-lasting head. very nice hoppy/bitter aroma. hops abound in the flavor as well...pretty well-made APA. Panzuriel (2333) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - AUG 19, 2002
Very nice Pale ale with a good aroma, great flavor through a nice crisp finish. Good appearance in the glass and a wonderful texture. SJP (483) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 18, 2002
Not as nice as Hopdevil, but still a damn fine pale from PA. Nice hoppy flavor that isn't too sharp at any one point so it was very easy drinking. Drew (2411) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JUL 28, 2002
not as hoppy as the west coast, but stands on it's own anyway. nice medium thick, sweet malty body, enought hops to balance it out. very 'session-able'

Impressive, mostly because of a very slight finishing sweetness, and because the dry-hoppping isn't over the top. Perhaps the bit of sweetness is because only Cascade hops are used, rather than a combination of Cascade & Chinook? Whatever the case, it reminds me a bit of the finish of North Coast's Scrimshaw Pilsner, believe it or not! SETANTA (582) - Bangor, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 19, 2002
Very good APA, good hops, nice malt balance................................. Wilecat (66) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 15, 2002
An exellant Ale. Excellent color and a wonderfull flavor.................... Jake Barnes (456) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 12, 2002
A nice dark golden APA. Cascade hops dominate the aroma and contribute to the flavor. However, there is a distinctive bready, earthy flavor to this beer that makes it a bit different from your average APA. Great label by the way. Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - JUN 16, 2002
Light to medium amber-golden color. Citrusy, slightly piney aroma is there for sure. Hops dominate the flavor as well, with just enough malt to provide some backbone and sweetness. This is very close to being an IPA. Very juicy, citrusy finish. Slightly fizzy palate. Medium bodied.
