2oz sample at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Pours a hazy orange color with a small foamy head. Aroma of caramel malt, and orange citrus. Taste of rotted citrus, citrus zest, caramel malt, and a hint of sour lemon. beerbrains (26) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 17, 2014
slight aroma of caramel/hay mixture, dark golden color, , white foam, heavy lacing, light sweetness, medium body, creamy palate. This IPA has a somewhat odd taste - malty and sweet going down with a long hop finish. I also attribute this to high alcohol content. When I drink a beer with a high content (this is 9.84% on the bottle) I can taste what I describe as the alcohol. Not bad - good for some slow sipping beer enjoyment.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2014 Big flavor. Think Mad Elf without the cherries. Malty and sweet. Big yet smooth hops. There is a reason why they put elephants on the label- 300+ calories! Not a session beer. Enjoy one bottle at a time. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - DEC 27, 2013
9/3/2010. From bottle. Cloudy amber orange color with a white head. Boozy aromas with malt, citrus, pine and tropical fruit. Bitter hoppy flavors with a boozy finish. DocJitsu (1974) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Pours a golden color with suspended cloud swirls with an off white, large, fluffy head. Lace snags and spiderwebs as the head subsides. Sweet toffee/caramel dominates the nose. Some subtle notes of citrus waft out of the glass as well. Full, smooth texture that becomes progressively astringent as the beer finishes. Pretty malty, but not as much as the nose would indicate. Some mildly tart citrus blends pretty nicely with the maltiness. Some zinc expresses itself as well. Nothing great. Certainly not worth the $14.50 I paid for the sixer. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - NOV 15, 2013

T: Orange Juice, Mildly Malty
M: Mediocre Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mildly Citrus
Overall, I dont know if it is the most mildly balanced DIPA or a faux IPA with orange juice mixed in...make a decision and get back to me because whatever is playing the part of a DIPA is not cutting it and should be let go. gripweed57 (2452) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - OCT 12, 2013
On tap. Hazy orange gold color. Small white head. Big pine, grapefruit nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor has nice notes of mango and and pine hops. Fruity a complex. Huge bitter, spicy dry hop finish.
