3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
6 oz sampler, off tap at Stoudt’s Black Angus Restaurant & Brew Pub.
Pours a dark black with a thick brown head with good lacing. Nose is malt with notes of chocolate, dark fruit.. Taste is of dark malt, oats, figs, and slight chocolate. Very, very nice.
12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice black-ish color with a thin ring of light khaki head, somewhat bubbly. It poured a bit thin, but it’s not terrible. The aroma is interesting. There is a light roastiness to it and a bit of chocolate. A light sweetness and a hint of metallic exists. It’s a little sweeter and there is a hint of licorice and a slight bittering aspect to it. The flavor is interesting. There is a lot more of a bitter roast and a chocolate. The metallic tendency of the malts is in full swing. It’s got a dark fruit thing happening that isn’t the best, but it adds something. The mouth feel is decently thick with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly metallic sweetness on the finish. Poured from a 12ozbottle. Black ink with a tan head. Coffee and chocolate nose. Delicious taste with bitter bakers chocolate and milkshake mouthfeel. A classic that I haven’t had in years. Cheers! PhillyCraft (7345) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2016
bB backlog, bottle from Canals West Deptford. Faced on a cold night in December. Pours a deep black color with a medium sized head. Notes are huge on fudge and other sweet chocolate. Also some dark malt, toast, and coffee. Really creamy and smooth mouthfeel. I like this stout from stoudts MarkSachon (1028) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2016
2915 vintage. A good imperial stout just short of extraordinary. One is probably enough.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at "The Pub" in Gettysburg, PA. This beer is a pitch black offering with a nice tan head. The aromas is full of roasted grains and cocoa. the taste is a lot like the aroma with some cocoa, coffee and malt blended well for a flavorful event. My favorite Imperial Oatmeal Stout to date. A nice stout has all the flavors you would hope for. Toasty malty enjoyable in most every way. A bit thin on the tongue though. closey22 (1972) - Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2015

12 oz brown bottle; Lot #721; Bottled date of August 2014..
Pours dark brown, looking black in the snifter. The light brown head has a creamy look and good retention. This has a full and very smooth mouthfeel, but with some light heat fro alcohol.
The aroma carries the usual mix of dark malts and oats, with little in the way of alcohol esters, but with a touch of spiciness (hops?). The flavor also reflects some spicy hops but is dominated by dark roasted grains. Minimal sourness. Mildly bitter. Some chocolate with only faint raisins and vague dark fruit in the flavor. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - MAY 12, 2015
Bottle: Pitch black, inky body with a light-tan creamy head that doesn’t last. Aroma of baker’s chocolate, bitter cocoa dust, licorice, creamy oatmeal, a small hint of brown sugar, & mild coffee beans. Flavor is smooth, good balance of bitter & sweet. Oatmeal, chocolate, hints of coffee, faint anise, a touch of roast & char nearing the finish. Body could be a little thicker, but overall this was pretty tasty.
