It has a bright clear yellow color with a tall bright white head on top. The body has some streams of visible carbonation rising up to the head which is creamy and hangs on well. It also makes some cool slick lacing on the glass. The aroma has a light pale biscuity malt undertone with a nice grassy/floral hop character with a twist of lemon zest on top. Its flavor mirrors the aroma with light, mildly sweet malt balanced by mildly bitter grassy/floral hops. The palate is light with a soft yet still lively carbonated texture.

Appearance: Cloudy pale golden body, resembling a witbier, with a creamy white head.
Aroma: Slightly lemony with a mild sweetness. a very subtle spiciness and perhaps a touch of wheat. Pleasant aroma, decent strength.
Taste: A mild/pleasant sweet lemon flavor is apparent with a touch of malty sweetness and a subtle spiciness by the finish. Easy to drink.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with moderate to high carbonation, prickling sensation on the tongue.
Overall: Very easy to drink with subtle pleasant hints of things. This would be great with certain light dishes.
Pours gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving scant lacing. Dough and hay aromas. Sharp with sweet caramel and hay upfront turning to mild sourdough before the lasting earthy bitter finish. 60minuteman (1714) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 14, 2014
A light yellow pour with white head. Aroma of bread, malt, banana, grass. Dry palate, thin body, good alcoholic bitterness. Not much present, but it has a nice character to it that screams Stoudts. Kolsch.

Rated on 12-21-2010. This bottled beer has a small fizzy white head that mostly diminishes, yellow transparent body, fizzy carbonation, and a ring of lacing. The aroma is malty, wheat, yeasty, hoppy, sweet, and fruity. The taste is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, wheat, and fruity. The mouth feel is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. All-in-all, this beer is quaffable, not overly hoppy tasting, but does not own much character or WOW factor. jimski (49) - - JAN 16, 2014
Stoudt Karnival kolsch is a German style ale that has straw yellow color. True to German brewed kolsches, Stoudts it is dry and crisp with just a hint of fruitiness. Where it falls short of an excellent kolsch is the slightly sour fruity finish.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured golden, cloudy and with a nice foamy white head and tons of lacing on the glass. Aroma is not great, grass, wheat and some funk... However taste is pretty good, citrus notes, some malts and some hops, very refreshing, very crisp. Very enjoyable. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 15, 2013
