Appearance: Pours a clear, medium amber-hued body with just under a half inch of off-white suds.
Smell: Bready, toasty malts with a low, low, vague sweetish quality to them with citrusy, herbaceous hops.
Taste: Bready malts, some noted toastiness, and with just a scarce shred of malty sweetness. Small hint of stone fruit prior to the lemony, citrusy hops with a sound bitterness, and a bit of background earthiness. Closes out with a prolonged, dry, bitterish finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Revel Red is a Decent Red.
12 ounce bottle from Beer Run best by 5/30/12. Pours a clear copper color with a medium creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee malts and herbal, peppery hops. The taste is bitter citrus and herbal hops with a toffee malt finish. The bitterness lings a bit. Average carbonation, medium bodied, decent balance. Nice beer. 12oz bottle (best by: 5/16/12). Clear orange color, a good thin cream-colored head, leaving good lace. A lighter, crisp carbonation. Nice and dry, good texture. A hoppy red, basically. Nice, spiced hop aroma. Nice sweet and spicy taste, slight bitter. A decent enough beer, but it leaves me wanting something more out of it. I’ll take an imperial version, please unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - JAN 5, 2012
12oz bottle. Deep copper color, rock off-white head. Nice lace. Aroma of toasted grains, earthy hops. Nice caramel nose. Tastes is dry caramel malts, mint, and then some leathery hops. Finishes with a good amount of spruce, some black tea notes, and nutty malt character as well. Very good, dry, and not overly hopped, and well balanced. oobawa (1400) - Tennessee, USA - JAN 5, 2012
Pretty, but the nose is all dark malt and grain, nary a hop to be found. Tastes semidry, with a dark, caramel middle surrounded by a immediate and lingering swipe of hops. But the hops don’t have the wanted depth; the beer is bitter, but doesn’t deliver on any solid pine, herbal, or citric flavors that are usually prevalent in a "hoppy red." But I’m being too negative; this bottle isn’t bad beer. In fact, there’s a grainy, earthy charm to the malts, and the hops never grow annoying, even if the bitterness is without any accompanying charm.

Rich amber/copper color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt/biscuit, caramel, pine, & floral hops; Flavor of malt, pine hops, caramel, nuts and some citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; Nicely balanced; Different overall - pretty decent. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Draft at Coles, Buffalo NY. Shimmery copper pour. Pretty heavy/dominant maltiness going on here. Caramel malts in the aroma with feint citrus hops. Flavor is mostly sweet caramel malts. ok but very little bitterness glennmastrange (2868) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - DEC 29, 2011
Bottle. Moderate malt and hop notes of roasted, caramel, and pine, light soap for the yeast, with hints of dark dried fruit in the background. Head is small to average size, frothy, off-white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear light amber/orange. Flavor starts faintly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively to fizzy carbonation. A nice surprise from a beer called Red. Lots of Pale Ale aromas, and a flavor that’s just a little short on the sweetness. Rustyham (1836) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Growing anger red color. Big lacking head. Sweet floral hippy aroma. Sweetness from tropical fruits, hibiscus and rose water. Drinkable and sweet
