Bottle. The first measure of any beer labeled "red" is to see whether it’s really red. Well, this is definitely red. Still. Clear. Big, white, poofy head of foam. Malty aroma. Caramel even. Drinks with a definite caramel malt creaminess. Rich with it. Malty. Brown sugar. Good. (#4612, 6/9/2012) Slubgob (330) - West Hartford, USA - JUN 6, 2012
Pint off tap. Copper color rapidly dispersing fine white head. Not getting a lot of nose. Good malt add expected from a red, assertive but not overwhelming hops. A solid, enjoyable red. FudgeSociety2 (311) - Florida, USA - MAY 15, 2012
Man, all the hops are gone already in this bottle. All that’s left is caramel malt with some bitterness. Cybercat (5879) - Georgia, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Comes out of the bottle a clear, dark coppery amber with a fairly thick, if not too persistent, pale tan head. Fruity aroma is mainly apple with a hint of cherry, plus a malty undertone and a subtle yeasty note. Fruity, malty flavor has a tinny undertone and a grassy hint plus a fair amount of bitterness. Texture has average body and fizziness. Maybe not Stoudt’s best, but deserves at least a chance. blankboy (7714) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 11, 2012
Bottle [12oz]. Pours a very deep amber with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, bread, light citrus hops, pine and fruit. Flavour of caramel malt, toffee, bread, fruit and light citrus hops. Short, average bitter/spicy finish. Average bodied. A slightly hoppy Amber Ale, decent.

Beautiful red hue. Nice white foamy head with good lacing. Hops are nice for a pale ale, actually feels a bit like an IPA. Solid offering from Stoudts. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a dark reddish copper with a large, creamy, off white head. The nose has papery hops and a solid biscuit and cracker background. The flavor leans a little to the malt side with bread and biscuit notes, but there is a little earthy and piney hoppiness. Reminds of an English pale ale. Lots of soft carbonation leading to a medium finish. Nice session brew. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2012
Tan amber small off white head with good retention. Minimal nose. Big malty and caramel body balanced nicely. Hops provide citrus. Medium to full body. Ok! sloth (2910) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Medium sized off white head with fair retention and lace. Clear dark copper colored brew. Nose is malty with crystal sweetness and and some iced tea notes. Body is lightly medium with a somewhat prickly carbonation and annoying grainyness. Dry malts, not much else, grainy, lil earth, ice tea notes. Finish is bland, nothing. Bummer. milewide (2260) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 17, 2012
More of an amber to me. Red amber color with average head. Solid mouth feel. Hops and malt are evenly matched. Interesting mix of hops which are quite unique.
