Pours a clear brownish reddish color with a tan head. Aroma of syrupy malt with a slightly citrus peppery note. Taste is syrupy sweet with notes of toasted nut. The balance leans a bit more to the malty than the hops but it is still well balanced and it favors the side I like. Good local beer.

Reddish orange, nice white head. Smells nice - grapefruit, molasses, and caramel. Pretty tasty, too - nice mix of fairly prominent grapefruit and some bready, toasty caramel malt. Simple and tasty. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2011

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium amber-hued body with just under a half inch of off-white suds.
Smell: Bready, toasty malts with a low, low, vague sweetish quality to them with citrusy, herbaceous hops.
Taste: Bready malts, some noted toastiness, and with just a scarce shred of malty sweetness. Small hint of stone fruit prior to the lemony, citrusy hops with a sound bitterness, and a bit of background earthiness. Closes out with a prolonged, dry, bitterish finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Revel Red is a Decent Red.
Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany with a persistent, medium-sized off-white head. Good looking beer. Aroma is spicy, citrusy hops and some sweet malt. Flavor is rather hoppier but still pretty nicely balanced.
