Dark amber color, no head or lacing to speak of. Malty with a bit of hop bitterness mid-taste. Okay ESB.

At a tasting, thanks zvikar, small creamy head, deep hazy orange colour, aroma of hay and nuts with some caramel, flavour of caramel, hay with some graininess and a touch of metal, strong and a touch coarse bitterness. Quite nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, light fruitiness, cardboard notes and floral and earthy hints. Flavor has some sweetish malt, a bit caramelly and a bit biscuity, finishes bitter and hoppy with some earthy hops. Medium-bodied. OK,

Very good and boring. Nice malt flavor with some fruits. Finishes nicely in the bitter style with some slight hop flavor left on the mouth. Beer has a lot of nice subtle flavors. Not too exciting of a style but this beer has enjoyable complexities.

Rich amber body, large off-white head, fairly dense lacing. Pale malts, touch of toffee, light fruits. A bit sweet, thin in the middle, light bodied, soft finish.

Tap. Pours clear amber with thick, creamy off-white head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is toasted, cookie, and caramel malts, figs, floral hops, and light woody notes. Flavor is smooth with dry, bready malts, dark fruit esters, woody notes, and light floral hops, and some light funk; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Stoudt’s Scarlet Lady ESB has a thin, off-white head, some sheen of lacing left on the glass, and a brilliant, bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is of brown bread crust and dank fruit. Taste is of brown bread crust, some sugar, a little bitterness, and tannin. The mouthfeel is light to medium, and Stoudt’s Scarlet Lady ESB finishes dry, refreshing, and highly drinkable. The tannin aspect holds it back a bit, but it’s still very good and worth checking out. RJT
